The division in this country started way before Obama. The country was divided during W's too. You clearly are misinformed. It's funny how much the government grew under W and the excessive spending and no one said a word. There was so much money that went unaccounted for during W's administration with war spending. Clearly, you lack any intellectual understanding about the 1 percent. The 1 percent owns 80 percent of the stock market. The 1 percent has an average yearly income of 1.3 million and a net worth exceeding 16 million.
Apparently you read something, perhaps an ideology, into my post that was not intended, and that something was an assumption that I wished to return to the days of GWB's administration or ever approved of his administration. I'm not especially partisan or loyal to any political group, but rather, I'm commenting about what, to me, is an almost palpable tension that now exists in dialogues with friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Perhaps you don't sense that tension. Getting back to the 1% concept, there continues to be a disconnect in the defining the 'wealthy'. Your $1.3M annual income quote is significantly greater that the 2009 IRS Adjusted Gross Income for the 1% being set at $364K.(Source: IRS) I tend toward leaning w/your figures when speaking about what I personally call the 1% or the uber wealthy. Using the IRS amount of $364K would qualify a married couple as being in the 1%, the wealthy, where one spouse is a Supt of a large school district and the other spouse is a Principal in the same district. That couple might have an AGI of $364K, but they are not wealthy in the sense of net worth or stock holdings.

Of course the Republican won in the 12th. Kentucky is coal country. You cannot declare war on Coal in Kentucky unless you are all hopped up on Pot. Wait until you see the other Republicans ready to take the House, and Senate. Happy days are here again!!

Well isn't this special? Former 7th District Rep. John Arnold (Democrat) doesn't even get sanctioned for his sexual harassment, his inappropriate comments, and his vulgar talk to his female clerical workers in Frankfort! Hope I never, ever hear another word coming from a Democrat's mouth about the Republican's sponsoring a war on women. Arnold's lewd comments to females were bad enough, but now, the KY Democrats have chosen to refuse to sanction his documented behaviors and to overlook his sexually-loaded comments. C'mon, good ol' Democrat boys in Frankfort, you've just given your blessing for our young men to treat our young women as sexual objects.

Nope. I attended high school with the guy. His emotional development got stuck somewhere around grade 9. Behaviors that might have been overlooked or laughed about in the mid-1960's changed a decade ago; however, John simply continued to act and behave like he was still a 9th grader living in a community of 2000 country folks. He never bothered to notice the 'climate change' in unacceptable things to say around females, especially females far from his West KY stomping grounds or more specifically, females of color. For that matter, no one in Frankfort ever called his hand either.

I think that he was right not to change much. Evolution takes thousands of years, do you expect testosterone to stop on a dime?

Darwin,
I can't answer your question. Perhaps that's a question better addressed to John. As an aside, I kinda suspect John would have reined in his free-range testosterone years ago if he'd been advised and counseled that touching female State employees or speaking inappropriately to female State employees ultimately could result in a forced resignation followed by long-standing humiliation. John is not dumb, but rather, he continued to test the limits of his behaviors because no one had ever cornered him privately and told him the point-blank truth, the truth being that touching women and speaking inappropriately to women would lead to nothing but trouble, big trouble. At this point, he serves as a warning to others.

I don't care what she wants to do as long as it is another seat removed from the clutches of the Democrat machine. The Democrat had to be a real louse for those Kentuckians to elect a lady.

From what I hear, Suzanne Miles is such an embarrassment that the Ky GOP is now sorry she won

She's out in the next election
