Stupid American local and state governments, and incompetent federal governments, refuse to enact a policy of burying electrical lines underground whenever possible, and this is the result: every time there's a serious storm, power goes down.

Germany started burying theirs years ago, and have far, FAR fewer outages per person per year than we do.

C'mon, government, figure this out! Stop putting critical 21st-century technology on top of 19th century creosote-coated wooden poles!
