$45,000 in the state of IA is not "poor people" many live very well on it, living within their means.

Good needs his head examined. $45,000.00 in Iowa will barely pay for a low rent apartment or a small house in a poor neighborhood for a family of 4. I guess that Good would suggest that $3.70/gal gas and $4.00/lb hamburger along with having to pay rent, utlilities and insurance costs leaves the person supposting that family lots of extra spending cash on $45,000.00 a year. Good needs to pull their head out of the sand.

LOL do you think generations before you had extra spending cash, low-rent subsidized housing, free medical, dental, eyecare, 3 squares at the local school compliments of other taxpayers, free daycare (babysitter back in the day) foodstamps and more? No we didn't. We created our children and took responsiblity for raising them. I clearly remember having a large garden and saving nickels, dimes, pennies and quarters so I could purchase needed school supplies for MY kids. Today grab a free backpack loaded with YOUR children's needs, never mind that I arrived in an Escalade. You need to pull your head out of the sand and realize generations before you were proud people, not part of a nanny state. Made do with what you can provide for your family, as people like me are sick and tired of supporting you!
