As a matter of fact, I love this story. I love the fact that there are still people with ethics willing to stand up for their convictions. In this economy, there are not many people and families that can afford to be careless with their money. I do think people should be able to make their own choices for fun, but there are other casinos such as the ones in Cherokee, nc, Missippi, Alabama, Las Vegas, etc. Why build another one here. Hopefully, jobs will be developed using other means if the current administration with encourage business.I don't think Sonny Purdue is perfect, but I look at this as another negative political tool for the upcoming elections.

Georgia doesn't want casinos. The sideshow of casinos is prostitution, drugs, sports betting, and political corruption.

Couldn't agree with you more. There is nothing good about gambling- for some people it's a disease. Why take advantage of those people for capital gain?

What is wrong with a casino? Having something like a casino would be a boom to the Atlanta convention business, create hundreds of jobs by all of the support business that is needed to support a casino complex.
And by the way, Atlanta already has prostitution, drugs, sports betting and corruption. A casino would not have any effect on that. It would just be business as usual.

Georgia Legislature looks at the rate of criminal activity in Atlanta, and the criminals that run the Atlanta government, and says no to any legalized gambling in Atlanta.
