This is the most rediculous thing that the Gov. could have done. He stated that he Veto'd the Bill because it would not set a good precident for all of the new b/ness that would come to Ga. There was a 25% reduction in taxes. Humm... this would have brought 2000 jobs to an area that is stuggling with the economy. Have you not heard of trickle down economics? This would have brought more tax money to the state than ever before. Not to mention the revenue from the tourism, the builders, the pavers, concrete workers, steel workers, all the way down to the people that sell the nuts and the bolts. How much extra tax revenue could the state have gotten just from the McDonald's? not to mention payroll taxes. Man!! the Governor really stepped in it this time!!
If he would not have veto'd this the state would have gotten 75% new tax growth. I don't know about you, but 75% of something is better than 100% of nothing!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of McDonalds, why don't we tax/ fine people for being fat and ugly? We'd have a billion dollars before you know it and open Bartow's Own Ski Park!

If an idea is stupid no amount of tax breaks is going to make the idea not stupid. This was the first smart thing that old bald headed redneck has done since he has been in office. I will be glad Roy Barnes will be back to running things after the election. If only we could have somehow cloned Tom Murphy we would be all set to make Georgia work again.

It's not the 1st one in the world! It is very successful in Dubai! It is after all a THEME PARK except the GA one will incorporate a Water Theme as well which gives people a choice in the Spring/Summer/Fall Season.
The fact is sometimes the stupidest idea has been the most successful business!

Roy Barnes for Govenor

I like what Roy Barnes is saying on his television ads. Forget about this ski resort thing, it was just a bad idea. Let's get Roy back in office and get the education system back on track and put our citizens back to work.

On the ski resort thing...it isn't a bad idea at all. There is one at the college I graduated from called "snoplex." Just built it a couple of years ago. Highly used by students (for free) and by the community (who pay to use it). This would have been a great tourist attraction for the area and would have amounted to thousands of jobs.
However, the bill itself may have been a bad bill. Don't know because I didn't read it. I'm pretty sure the Gov didn't want to sign it because the state can't afford to let any tax money (sales tax or otherwise) go considering the mess it's in.
However, I can't say I've ever been a Perdue supporter. Nice man, but hasn't done much for the state. Barnes may do well in the election.

There would be less meth because it would increase activities in this boring town, causing kids to ski instead of shooting up drugs.
