Why Romney lost

The GOP started the presidential campaign in the black cold of the Iowa winter, appealing to evangelicals and other cultural conservatives. Full Story

To future generations: SUCKS TO BE YOU! Good luck trying to pay done the deficit when everyone is on welfare, hope you learn to speak chinese fluently - you're going to need it.

Actually, if you look at the stats, Obama is also ahead on the popular vote, although not all states have declared yet. Didn't notice Republicans complaining when Bush failed to win the popular vote but still became president. It is the way your system works: but to my way of thinking, if you don't vote, don't complain. Historically, huge numbers of people have died to ensure democracy, in my own country, I would never consider not voting, whatever the flaws in the system.

The whole tone of the post-election threads is depressing. Both sides are failing to show grace whether in victory or defeat. Might be nice to take some example from Romney's speech conceding, he showed a statesman-like approach. Continue to be a divided, bickering nation and you weaken yourselves - or have you forgotten the lessons of the Civil War? Not only that, do not be surprised if the rest of the world looks askance at a nation that fails to show any dignity in its conduct in debate. I have American friends who are shocked at the way comments are made by social media sites: people saying hateful things they would never say to your face. The USA is undoubtedly a world leader, but some of its population need to learn how a leader behaves.

Who cares why he lost? When will the opposition to the leftists realize that Hannity, Limbaugh, the RNC, or the politicians can't do what needs to be done?

In the last 100 years the left has infiltrated every corner of our culture - but only NOW do they have the government. They have had the colleges, media, and entertainment industry for quite some time. See how that works? They TRAINED people into supporting their insanity. They will get the military too.

The first thing is that the strong opposition to them in the 1st half of the last century was the last time there was real opposition - they have been running rampant since. Sneaking in here, there, and everywhere. The new opposition is only a few years old and it is doing almost everything wrong. It only relies on two institutions - politics and church. Do people realize how many institutions there are and that to rely on these two easily corrupted ones is ridiculous?

Faith is the LAST thing we need. We need intelligence and ACTION. People need to get radical. Buy a bunch of land and sell it to like-minded people and build homes - drop mortgages and debt - live within our means - start a school system/network that teaches kids to be Individuals, not WHAT to think, not to be religious, but HOW to think rationally and for one's self. Self-reliance, defense, and respect. Don't train them to blindly be Republicans - that can change on a dime if you just plan on sending them off to the government schools. People need to get interested in things other than TV, sports, and politics. To create social events around learning new things.

Republicans are for the most part the very definition of "reactionary". It's gone stale and they are being smothered.

Stop listening to Hannity whine about leftists and tell you that you will win the next election. You WON'T but he will still be a multi-millionaire while he wastes your time telling you what you already know. The only activism "allowed" by these guys is for politicians and military charities while the left is active in EVERY FACET of American life.

Maybe Ron Paul should have spent less time attacking Republicans - since after all he was running for the Republican nomination. He was right about everything domestic and I voted for him in the primary but if he couldn't even figure out that you don't CONSTANTLY criticize the party you are to represent especially when people are so afraid and desperate then I don't know what he could have actually achieved as president. My problem with Libertarians is that they spend less time looking for agreement and most of the time looking at how to distinguish themselves from every existing thing.

Well then Mr. Genius Liberal - how do we pay down the debt with the entire population on welfare because that's where it's heading?
Explain to all of us - since you're so fucking smart - how does the debt go down by printing and spending more money Mr. Genius Liberal Economist.
What happens when your messiah spends us over the cliff and China decides to call their loan? Hmmm?
But hey, you got your freebies and that's all that matters because liberals are too stupid to know how the real world works.
I'm going to laugh my ass off when the riots begin like in Greece because guess what, you stupid fuck? When the working people can't work and the money is gone there won't be anymore handouts, but that's not the funny part. The funny part is watching you liberals morons trying to figure out what went wrong with your theory of "levelling the playing field".
With all of history and logic to tell them that it won't work, they still haven't accepted it and they won't accept it in the future. It's in their nature - although I think the last thing they are is "liberal" - they are central planning authoritarians either desperate for authority over them or to be the authority - but they will ALWAYS find someone else to blame.

It's frustrating to know that what you said still needs to be said (like "2 + 2 = 4 in case people forgot") but I hope you never stop saying it.

No, there is no leader, and Obama is not my president.all we have is some guy who wants to make it so USA is equal.

Too sum up Obama,

We just cannot tolerate this rich country and greed, all the wealth of white people that was built off the backs of minorities.i am here to "transform" America.

This is all to hold onto power only to control the people.
But all these so-called immigrants will be leaving a country to just go to another one just like the one they left. no more USA

Watching this unfold from the outside has been really interesting. Mitt Romney started a strong campaign, his initial policies were good and I'd have considered him if I was a US citizen. Then as the campaigns went on he began to wane, too many of his supporters and colleagues opened their mouths without thinking and that put him in a bad light not only to US voters but the rest of the world. Crackpot ideas about Obama being a Devil worshipper, a terrorist etc have made an absolute joke of Romney's campaign. I feel sorry for Mr Romney and his family. He is an intelligent man who has unfortunately become the pied piper of dumbass. I mean you only have to watch news interviews with redneck republicans who cannot string a coherent sentence together to understand this. I saw one where a lady said that Obama should go back to Indonesia...WTF??? Thankfully the majority of Americans saw sense. Obama is the first politician that I feel I could put trust in, I almost wish he was heading things up on our side of the pond. Who can argue that a well educated, well rounded, headstrong, genuine family man is not the best thing for your country?
You will be eating your words over the next 4 years. I cannot wait. Well done America- you've got a brain after all!

Third world inputs equal third world results. I stood on line to vote and for every decent human there must have been 20 gold toothed smelly far side character looking inner city guitar trash specimen hootin and hollering,
You think those respectable and successful nations of the past were inundated with creatures such as these? Heck no, in the old days they knew what to do with undesirable genetic dead-enders.

Obama wins 50% of the popular vote. Wasnt hard when the 47% of moochers in this country who pay no federal income taxes were voting to keep the government checks comming.
