Oh PLEASE. Whether a woman becomes pregnant through consensual sex or because she was forced is actually irrelevant.
What DOES matter is that the WOMAN has the right to decide for herself, as an individual, whether to continue a pregnant or not. If she decides to stay pregnant and give birth, fine. If she decides NOT to stay pregnant, also fine. Either way, it is HER decision, not yours or anyone else's.
If it isn't YOUR pregnancy, it isn't your decision. It really IS that simple.
Taking a life ISN'T that simple and should never be or we cheapen the value of it.

Well, with those parameters in mind, I suppose you'll forgive all Christians when they collectively agree to denounce the sexual abuses by Catholic priests, and the Church's attempts to keep it quiet.
Or you'll forgive them when they all collectively denounce the fundamentalist practices by some offshoots of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, for the practices of Warren Jeffs and his followers, or, when the whole Mennonite, Amish, Quaker communities publicly denounce the antics of the few that've turned the public eye in their direction.
Yes I do hold them accountable for their actions UNLIKE people here that DO NOT hold terrorist reasonable for their attacks on soft targets!

Or Guns. Or any other thing in life. Depends on the mistake.
There are countries that have almost no restrictions on abortion, and yet have a much lower per-ca-pita abortion rate than the US.
Are we willing to do what they do in order to achieve that? Have we even studied their formula - delved into what drives a woman to abortion, searched for ways to support that woman so she will feel safe to have her child? Many of the same conservative folks in government don't seem to feel that's needed, and it's noticed.
Making it illegal is not the answer. Pretending we can legislate it into a corner isn't the solution. Forcing a woman to bear an unwanted child isn't good for either of them.
So, what is the answer?
I answered that, re-read my earlier post.

Tell it to the women and children who were victims of drone strikes in Afghanistan.

Oh, wait....you'll have to 'tell it' to their next-of-kin...since those particular women and children are dead.

In many Muslim empires, people didn't have to convert at all.. That's not true when it came to European states, within the Middle Ages. Jews lived along side Christian and Muslims in Muslim Spain. Jews and Muslims were tortured, killed, or forcefully converted when the Catholics came in. Also, the only religions of peace are Buddhism and Jainism. Islam is no way a religion, but I hope you're not deluding yourself into thinking that Christianity or Judaism are.

Where, exactly, has access to contraception been "blocked"?

Muslims conquered Spain in the year 711. The medieval Iberian Peninsula was the scene of almost constant warfare between the Muslim al-Andalus (and later Taifas) and Christian kingdoms. Periodic raiding expeditions were sent from Al-Andalus to ravage the Christian Iberian kingdoms, bringing back treasure and slaves. In raid against Lisbon, in 1189, for example, the Almohad caliph Yaqub al-Mansur took 3,000 female and child captives, while his governor of Córdoba, in a subsequent attack upon Silves in 1191, took 3,000 Christian slaves.[10]

The Almohad Dynasty (from Arabic ال&#16 05;وح& #1583;ون al-Muwahhidun ("the monotheists") or "the Unitarians"), was a Berber, Muslim dynasty that was founded in the 12th century, and conquered all Northern Africa as far as Libya, together with Al-Andalus (Moorish Iberian Peninsula). The Almohads, who declared an everlasting Jihad against the Christians, far surpassed the Almoravides in fundamentalist outlook, and they treated the dhimmis harshly.[11] Faced with the choice of either death or conversion, many Jews and Christians emigrated.[12][13] Some, such as the family of Maimonides, fled east to more tolerant Muslim lands,[12] while others went northward to settle in the growing Christian kingdoms

You are telling me that was peaceful!!

If a terrorist cared about his family or his tribe, he wouldn't hide among them putting EVERYBODY in harms way! He won't conduct combat operations, fire rockets/mortars or plant IED's to kill people! Not all of those c*cks*ckers are innocent victims!

Only a cretin would believe all the men killed in drone strikes in this supposed 'war on terror', are terrorists. As far as that goes, only a cretin would assume that our own government is not behaving in terrorist fashion, when targeting hospitals, retirement communities, and schools - all of which have happened several times. Pull your head out of your ass, and read a newspaper. And until you realize that you support terror when you support this war-hungry foreign policy, quit calling yourself 'pro-life'. You're anything but.

I'll give you one example, of the many available:

About 7 years ago, it was determined that a so-called 'pro-life' pharmacy technician could refuse to sell contraceptives, if his/her personal religious beliefs forbade the use of them. Meaning, that in rural communities with only one pharmacy, if the tech behind the counter didn't like the idea of women controlling their own reproductive function, those women were shit-out-of-luck when they tried to buy their birth control pills, or their morning after pills, or any other prescription contraceptive. It was further determined that Pharmacy owners could not prevent their employees from impinging on their ability to provide needed services to their customers....and in some cases, the pharm tech was allowed to refuse to return the prescription to the woman who brought it in... on the basis of the employee's religious convictions.

That's one. There are dozens more.

You still don't get it. Neither you nor any state government has the right to make women's sexual and reproductive decisions for us. It is the right of EACH woman, as an individual, to decide for HERSELF whether or not to continue a pregnancy. Unfortunately for women in Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, North Carolina, and other states controlled by anti-choice male politicians, they are losing that important civil right. I hope all those Republicans will be kicked OUT of office in the next elections in those states.

Not YOUR pregnancy? Not your decision. It really IS that simple.

I live in NC, nothing has changed here. A woman can get an abortion with no problem. ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT ABORTIONS SHOULD BE UNREGULATED AND UNLIMTED FOR EVERY WOMAN? Under age with no parental consent, or late term, days before due date or 3 or more in a short period of time, no attempt to save the baby IF it survives the abortion? Is that what you are telling me?

I refuse to condone the terrorist actions of our government, against citizens of other countries, or against Americans. I refuse to believe that it is our right as Americans to overthrow governments with which we disagree. I refuse to just sit back and watch, as the American President declares war on countries with natural resources we want, rather than using the free market to obtain them. I refuse to accept the official story of the terrorist attack on this country in 2001, as I firmly believe that our government was complicit in those attacks, in an effort to strip our Constitution of any real power. Which it did.

And as for chest-thumping pseudo-patriots like yourself, who not only condone but APPROVE of all those things, in my opinion we'll be much better off after your McDonald's and Chick-Fil-A intensive diets result in massive coronaries.

Pffft.

Getting back to the topix, which is SUPPOSED to be Marriage Equality and abortion......

I gather that most of the folks on here are men (I am assuming a bit here). I always wonder why it is that men are constantly making all these decisions for women. I believe that since the woman is the one who will be the most involved in the situation, that it should be her choice. I also believe that every time they make a law regulating a woman's health, the law should contain an equally restrictive section concerning men. For instance if they restrict a woman's free choice in any way, say a required sonogram, then men should be required to pay for their own Viagra, instead of their insurance, or other drug to enhance their ability to get an erection. I'm sure there are many other equally delightful little ways to impinge on a man's personal sexual life. Let's use them, and see how much further this heavy-handed, sexist stuff can go. Personally, I am willing to leave it to the women to decide.
