"Yet as a Jewish rabbi he said there is one way to heaven, and that is through faith in me."

This sentence is not gramatically correct since it is an indirect quote and should normally end in "faith in him." But perhaps it is a Freudian slip - maybe the pastor thinks Jesus himself appointed Mr. Jeffries as god.

Tebow makes me sick, and the trivialization of his faith by that so-called "Tebowing" act of genuflecting after a touchdown is an insult to people of different faiths, to his own faith, and anyone who just likes football... Like God gave him some special perk to win a football game just because of his beliefs. I can't wait for the that A-hole retires.

The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 6

1.“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

5.“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

6. "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

7. "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

8. "Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

Well said, but I honestly don't think Tebow is a hypocrite. There has been ample opportunity for him to be exposed as such, and no one's been able to do it. I think his faith in sincere, and to be honest, he's no different than hundreds of other professional athletes who point toward Heaven when they score and praise Jesus in their postgame interviews. It's fine to criticize such behavior as inappropriate, but when Tebow gets singled out for it, that smells more like envy to me. If that's his biggest sin, he's doing pretty well.

I'm still waiting for someone who has met Tim Tebow to describe him as anything other than a nice and friendly person. Nor does he go around haranguing people about becoming Christians. I don't see anything wrong with a Christian accepting invitations to preach to Christian congregations just because he happens to be a famous athlete.

The verses I quoted I learned as a child and have always taken them to heart.

And is ANYBODY going to explain WHY the Jets hired Tebow ???

Because they're the Jets. Creating their own problems is what they're best at.

Jets' ownership/management evidently wanted a player that they saw as marketable regardless of whether or not the coaching staff had any use for him whatsoever. A disaster predicted by pretty much everybody outside of the Jets' front office.

"Secret wives"? Where on earth did that come from? Are you just so full of bigotry that it spills out of you even in totally unrelated conversations? Yikes.

I think Mr. Tebow has finally read the U.S. Constitution:

This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
- Article VI U.S. Constitution

"Notwithstanding any thing to the contrary" means that the clause following it shall supersede and prevail over any thing contrary to this clause. Any thing that contradicts or withstands this clause shall be ineffective and inoperative qua this clause.

You are a bigot.

Do you think your comment was any different from the antisemitism of the Nazis?

It seems all of your radical homosexuals are hateful anti-Christian bigots.
