Do you really think that a sex offender who is homeless is going to provide the address where they actually reside? What address would that be, the 4th tralier down by the river across from the adult book store?

Really this story is only to provoke tears in the eyes of liberals who want taxpayers and others to fund places for these sexual predators to call home. How sweet, they will always have a place in jail. At least if they all live together they can prey on each other.

It's another useless law passed by useless politician's to make it appear that they earn their wages. It only goes to show that Tennessee has the best Democratic politicians money can buy.

Now that you mention it, they probably only "spawn" in a trailer down by the river. The sewer makes much more sense as anyone who abuses someone sexually does not deserve to breath. Thanks for your clarity and focus on this topic. I stand CORRECTED!

I couldn't agree with you more. Hopefully the people will boot them all out in November. This offenders registry has gotten ridiculous. I read the other day where there are about 600,000+ offenders on that list. Most are working under the table for cash wages or are drawing unemployment and receiving government assistance's just to keep them near poverty levels. I know a guy that can't get a stable job, or find a stable place to live. His kids and wife are suffering and they are innocent. His crime was over 20 years ago. It is useless and it's upkeep costs way too much money and too much suffering for the innocent people affected by it.

Excuse me but I am liberal and my views on sex offender's rights or rather lack of rights would shock you. I happen to live across the street from one and I can guarantee you that I tirelessly campaign to get more stringent laws regarding these people. I have written and/or talked to anyone in the state who has a title and most of those as you know are Republicans. So why don't you leave political affiliations out of it. I'm sick of that being thrown into every random subject matter. Now that I've cleared that off of my chest let me tell you that not one office holder on either side of the fence that I have spoken to in the past 5 years gives a damn about making the tougher on parolees. I suppose that their philosophy is to let sleeping dogs lie.

Our state laws are so lacking that we are kind of a refuge for these POS's coming from other states. Why? Because in most states you must do way more than be on an FBI website and stay away from schools and churches. For example here the offenders are allowed to pass out candy on Halloween as long as they are not in costume. Shocked? Here's another one. They can entertain children that are not their offspring in their homes. They also do not have to identify themselves as offenders when doing work in YOUR home.

My POS neighbor was convicted of 6 counts of child rape (amended down from how many more charges who knows) in MI and one count of rape on an 86 yr old woman. Lovely. He has no children of his own but allows children to play in his yard on a bike ramp that he built. He passes himself off as a handyman and does work in peoples homes. Sickening! I could write a short novel on the shit that I've seen him do over the past 5 yrs but I'll stop there. I constantly call Metro and the TBI(they govern them) about his actions. By the way he is a lifer which is to say that his crimes were so violent that he will never be off of the registry. To top it off he's a peeping tom and wanders the neighborhood late at night. Also he deals drugs and has had several assault convictions in the past few years. One would think that they would revoke his parole. But nobody cares! The only positive response that I have received was from one Metro officer who responded to a call that I made when he was peeping into my window(btw the POS's cell phone rang that's how I busted him). The officer was well aware of who he was because of the constant police activity at his home. The officer was unable to arrest him because he was not on my property when they responded nor was he at home when they went to his door. But he did add that it would be nice if his home burned. This guy as well as many others are time bombs waiting to explode. Sex offenders are NEVER cured! They just get better at what they do. So what do any of you want to lend to my seemingly one woman fight? I'm getting tired.

As far as where they reside...they are everywhere! Bad neighborhoods, good neighborhoods, gated communities,Brentwood, and Bellemeade included! Type in your zipcode on the TBI Sex Offender Registry and you too will be amazed and sickened!
