This is not good news. I think they will work it out. I am thinking the oil companies know there is profit to be had or they would not have started. I hope it is not just a tax write off for them. It seems to me that WFIW reported the Round Prairie well had hit depth and had began the horizontal phase. I guess we will have to watch and see.
The rig has been moved to a location near Xenia. The location at Round Prairie has been abandoned.

Humm, I thought there was already a rig near Xenia? Since I plan to be in the area the 27th and 28th do you know exactly where it is? Do you live in the area? I would like to meet you.

The Wayne County Press recently had an article that reported "Based upon talk, the well is producing several hundred barrels of oil per day. However, one local oil man pointed out that a tank battery has not been placed at the site to collect the oil." So how do they know what it is producing? The well isn't hooked up to a pipe line? An oil man from Austin, Texas said the well was producing a healthy oil well flare. " This is a good sign."
Also, it reported that the well near Xenia has run into problems."The drill bit came loose on the turn in the hole and now crews are 'fishing' try to get the bit out and in operation." Other oil companies report "that the oil boom will be huge".
I wouldn't bet anything on this either way.

Thanks for the input. I am on the edge. I really would like to see a huge boom but I am afraid it might go the othe way. The leasing company has about two months left to exercise my lease... one never knows. I regret not being able to make it to Fairfield. I had too cut my vacation short. It would have been great to meet you. Maybe next year. Like the Cubs. :-) By then we will know more about the boom or bust.

I'm told they are getting ready to drill near Orchardville. Have you heard anything to confirm that?

Haven't heard anything about a test at Orchardville. This past weekend I went to Bean Days at Wayne city. Stayed at my Sister's house close to Johnsonville. Twice as I drove to my Sister's from Wayne city I drove by the Round Prairie location. Can't see a thing as the corn in that field hasn't been cut yet. It appears the guard has been taken off the location. However, there is a large locked chain around the gate. Didn't go by at night, so, I don't know anything about the size of the flare.
Waiting on the new fracking rules and personnel is in place before anything is known. Nothing but speculation at this time.

I thought they shut the Round Prairie site down? I'm told there are no tanks and no pipeline. There would no flare. I'm hearing another company is looking at the area of section 2 of Hickory Hill. Weaver or Greenwalt or Koerkenmeier ground. I guess they are calling that Orchardville.

I hope Bean Days were fun. I have a nephew living near Geff.

Thanks for the update!

In the latest issue of the Wayne County Press there is an article and picture of four tanks that have been moved to the Walt Townsend well.(Round Prairie) There are four 300 barrel tanks in the battery. It appears there may not be as much security at the site as before. The photographer had to be let thru the gate to take the picture. It also shows some roustabouts working on the site. No mention of how much oil is being produced each day.

Well seems like a lot of chatter here. Was the fracking over a mile horizontally. Do they plan on fracking all of Wayne?

You obviously know very little about fracking. They frack where they drill for oil. Unless they are placing oil wells one every square mile or so, then no they are not going to "frac all of Wayne"
