As for public corruption, we've seen more since 2009 than Tammany Hall and Chicago's total history - combined
the whole republican voter suppression campaign is appalling as is their pledge to the lobbyist Norquist to not consider each piece of legislation on its merits.

Anyone too stupid to apply for their voter photo I D is too stupid to have the vote. That is how we got the corrupt Chicago politicians in office today, by letting them mult-vote, and vote their dead. It is time to go back to one man one vote.

Corporattions are as much "people" as Unions are, they are made up of Americans ready to donate to the winning team.
The issue is not whether they can donate or not. The issue is whether the "people" have the right to limits to their donations.

"Corporattions" are property and unions are non-profit membership organizations with the exclusive responsibility to act on behalf of its membership, akin to a special interest group. Having made the distinction, neither of them were accorded the status of a "person" nor the guarantees of equal protections under the law in our constitution. They are objects people possess. They are what we say they are.

Unlike a citizen, they [the corporations] are given the duties and privileges that we want to give them as we see fit. Allowing their unregulated interference with the body politics subverts the natural process of leadership selection in a representative democracy. Their unlimited financial resources are used as a wand to crown or destroy a political candidate and thereby limiting the peoples' electoral choices to hand-picked "puppets". No mere mortal can ever compete with the size and wattage of their microphone and only but a fool believes we are equal.

To say that corporations are separate "people" aside from their owners/board members with all the rights and protections under the law to buy elections tantamount to giving the rich and powerful 2 voices and the unconstitutional privilege of casting 2 votes. Keep repeating that corporations are people and soon enough they'll stop buying candidates and start running for public office themselves.

CORRECTION TO FIRST PARAGRAPH:

I wouldn't want to go back to Chicago either if I were the Obama's. In the last 2 weeks there has been 2 shootings a block or 2 from their house. one teen ager died. They cannot raise children there unless we give the girls Secret Service security too. That will be expensive. They are young.

Well stated! Rights that are already ours, when used as misleading weaponry, should raise our suspicion. Stay informed!

Every major city in America is overrun with skells. NYC has had a 25% graduation rate for the past 2 decades. Where do liberals who run these sh1tholes think they're going to go or do? Generational welfare has flooded our prisons as illiterate teens spawn future felons by the half dozen. Liberals answer is to legalize drugs. I say cut the welfare gravy train and teacher unions. i'd say bring back the draft, but the military can't even use these lowlives.

Our military is too high tech for the people in those gangbanger neighborhoods. The Mayors of our cities are making excuses for the criminal. In Chicago, for example, the very gangbangers who are shooting up the neighborhood will be hired election day to get out the vote. They will go door to door. So no, Rahm, and the police chief cannot do anything about the carnage.
