There's no "tax hike" and it doesn't need to "pass the Senate." Bush cuts EXPIRE unless they are renewed. Congress simply wouldn't renew those for the top bracket.
You're rather clueless, aren't you?
Clueless is still trying to pass them off as Bush's. Obama renewed them by saying raising taxes during a recession is not good. Obama's big credibility that the MSM won't ask him is, we are still in recession but he wants to raise taxes again anyway. This will cause the economy to colapse and the jobs to fall farther. He will hide the numbers anyway though. He always does.

Looks like Republicans are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Most Americans appear poised to blame Republicans, not President Obama, if negotiators fail to act in time to avert a “fiscal cliff” of automatic tax increases and spending cuts slated for January, according to a new Washington Post-Pew Research Center poll.

The poll finds little confidence that leaders in Washington will reach a deal before the Dec. 31 deadline, and the level of pessimism remains largely unchanged since a similar poll three weeks ago. By nearly 2 to 1, more respondents said Republicans in Congress would be to blame if there is no deal, a lopsided assessment little changed from the earlier poll.

They are searching for an excuse, it may take them two weeks.

Obama will throw them a bone, e.g., the tax rate will go up on the millionaires but maybe he takes one or two percent of the top, wipes his brow, and calls it a compromise.

The fact that you are still on the same sentence a month after the election shows the limits of your capabilities. Truge through the sludge Orca. You'll get off the beach yet.

More racist, offtopic garbage - or rather, the same garbage on another thread.

Keep it up and it will be reported, spammer. This isn't acceptable.

Bush and Republicans passed them initially - they are Bush's tax cuts. Of course it was foolish for Obama and Dems to let them be renewed, but that's not the issue.

We're not in a recession, but a recovery.

He doesn't want to raise taxes on anyone but the upper bracket. Meanwhile, Repubbies want to pass MASSIVE spending cuts, which would have a far worse effect on the recovery, and probably lead us back to recession.

You will blame that on Obama, if it occurs. You always do.
