South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's 14-year-old daughter is working in the State House gift shop, raising questions about nepotism that the governor's office declines to answer.
All state jobs should be posted and all state citizens should be given equal opportunity to apply, especially since the job seems to pay well in excess of the minimum wage, which for full time students working part time is $6.16 per hour.
Many older students, desperately trying to find summer jobs to help with tuition, books, and other school expenses should have been given equal consideration for this job instead of handing it to a 14 year old.
How many other applications had this 14 year old child filled out? My comment is not directed to the 14 year old but is directed to the parents who put the child in this position for their own reasons, such as being able to claim their daughter had the drive to get a job at 14.
I did not vote for the dingy Haley. But she has proven that she is smarter than most of the pea brain Republicans in this state by endorsing the GOP nominee for president. The majority voted in the SC Primary for that racist windbag Gingrich. Typical of this state to vote for someone like them. Cut Haley some slack for at least being smarter.
