well i don't know then the gov i know has a problem with Currie that is for sure and not Waycross that is why he probably did what he did and appointed Collins. Currie won't win against Deal. Judge Bogg's is from Waycross / Blackshear so South GA will always get what it needs from Atlanta.
anonymous's real name is Phillip Spicer, he is an Ex-waycrossian and nowadays a convicted felon, care of Currie and friends. He is currently evading the FBI and hiding out in the United Kingdom, see the small print under his name. Spicer harasses the DA's Office with weekly profane and vulgar emails and faxes from the UK, just like the above garbage. The FBI sort of is and sort of is not looking for him because of his juvenile rants and threats but really as long as he stays across the ocean... good. So America, consider the source when reading his nutty drivel.

Something happened with a very good friend of Judge Boggs that was down to a situation that will not get put on here in respect for Judge Bogg's and families of the deceased. Needless to say Currie going is just the start of it. Yep since 2007 Ware County Court house went under investigation they said 5 years so 2012 - 2013 about due for an FBI raid. Keep up with the local papers and Georgia Times Union as it appears its going to get pretty hot in Waycross especially at the court house.

I'm sure Gov. Deal knows more about this situation than all you normal private citizens. There's a REASON he appointed Mr. Collins and not Mr. Barnhill. And no, there's probably nothing crooked about it. You're just afraid of change.

Currie had no problems with Collins until he, being the stand up guy he is, approached Currie and Barnhill the last day of the application process and told them he was throwing his hat in the ring. The following Monday, they reduced him to a secretary in the office and had him answering phones for four days, then Barnhill fired him.

I say that because just a few months ago Collins received a promotion to a state paid position with a significant pay raise. Doesn't sound like a move for someone "incompetent" or not worthy of their position.

That doesn't sound kosher to me. Collins has taken the high road and is attempting to carry himself as the Christian man he is by not going back and forth with lies and nonsense.

We are still waiting on the corruption arrests regarding the DA's office. I think it is BS to the 10th power! This is a simple case of politics vs who can do the best job. I hear we have some felony murder trials coming up; it will be interesting to see if Mr. Collins makes the calendar call or assigns these cases to qualified prosecutors???

How does receiving a promotion to a state paid position "with significant pay raise" earn him the right to be DA? He is still a young lawyer trying to understand what he has to do and now he is in charge of other ADAs and the whole office. Wow! Maybe this is Deal's next phase of criminal justice reform - to appoint weak and inexperienced DAs so fewer people get sent to prison. That will cut down on the prison budget.

I worked in the DA's office for Rick a long time ago. I wasn't there long but I can tell you that any allegations of wrong doing by Currie were not witnessed by me. He was a very ethical man who did things by the book. He was one of the best bosses I ever had. As for his judgeship, he was up for being a judge when I was there and didn't get the appointment. To me, it seemed to have more to do with then Governor Barnes making a political appointment and being completely out of step with South Georgia. My experience in Waycross was that the ATL politicians were always out of step with the local politics of South Georgia. Again, as for these allegations, I'm going to chalk anonymous up to someone that was formerly prosecuted by the DA's office or had a loved one who was. We definitely weren't rigging juries or anything close to that. We won some cases and lost a couple of decent sized cases as well. Jury rigging is a ludicrous charge. For a DA to rig a jury, they would have to rig all of the jurors. Jury rigging only works for the defendants because they only need one corrupt juror.

It's not shady politics. Yes there is corruption in the DA's office that is why Currie is out and there probably will be more going with him. Once he is out like gone no more free working then you will find out. He is not liked in Atlanta GA. Ask Judge Bogg's about Super DA Rick Currie he won't comment. As for Super Dick DA becoming a Judge that did not happen either and won't ever happen. The DA's office has been under investigation for about 4 years now. There are other police divisions that want to burn his ass you will see shortly
You are a liar anonymous. You will not find a more honest hardworking person than Rick Currie. You are nothing but a liar. Rick Currie retired plain and simple. Brad Collins is a drunk and has been arrested several times for DUI and somehow got out of all of them. He is the crook. I would suggest you keep your slanderous lies to yourself. You are not as anonymous as you may think on here. Tread lightly you may bite off more than you can chew!!!

Governor Deal doesn't have a clue. Brad Collins wouldn't make a pimple on a good prosecutors ass. When Brad does run look out because his past is going to haunt him. The DUI's he somehow got out of and other things a married man shouldn't be doing.

Collins may not be what we need but neither is Barnhill. I know of a case where a man was raping his adopted daughter while her mother was at work. He was arrested & while he was out on bond he moved to another county & molested his new wife's daughter. The children nor any of their family members were notified of any court proceedings, in fact when one of the parents called & asked about a court date she was lied to. They made a deal with the child rapist & dropped the charges to simple child molestation despite the fact that medical records showed that the child had been penetrated. DFCS also had photo's of bruises left on the child from where the rapist beat her in a separate incident yet no charges were ever filed. They gave the rapist 5 years in prison & 10 years probation & the victims/families were never told of the deal or anything else for that matter. The victims/families found out from the rapist family members 2 weeks after he was already sent to prison. The mother of 1 of the children spoke to Barnhill & asked him why. Barnhill threw a bunch of excuses & told the mother that she needed to try to do 5 years in prison because it wasn't easy. The mother told him that she would go to the paper with her story & Barnhill said go ahead he could take care of that. She took that as a threat & left it alone because she had to finish raising her children. Barnhill treated her like she was the criminal. The rapist is out now & supposedly on probation but i've seen pictures on facebook of him with a small child. The people in the DA's office is very corrupt.

…how about some names? I just don't see Barnhill as that kind of man. He is a past Chairman of the Child Abuse Protocol Committee! The guy did get sentenced to 5 years in prison and 10 years of probation. That doesn't sound like he got off empty handed.

So you think that 5 years in prison & 10 years probation is enough time for a grown man that repetitively raped a small child & then went to another County & molested another child while out on bond? It was ok to lie to the victims parents so they could not attend the court hearing? No phone call, nothing? It was ok to treat the victims parent as the criminal? Would it have been enough & how would you feel if it had been your child? So glad that you aren't our D.A.! You want names, ask Barnhill. I'm sure he'll remember.

By the way, it's funny how you worded that (The guy did get sentenced to 5 years in prison and 10 years of probation.) because that's the same exact wording that was used, word for word when trying to convince the parent that it was a good deal. I guess one does get used to using a particular wording if they have to say it enough. Yea he got 5 years in prison & 10 years probation & the child that he raped is still messed up. The man is out now. I heard that he was on parole. If that's true they sure don't do a good job of supervising him because he had a 12 year old girl named Rachel staying with him from time to time. I don't know if she's still staying with him but I did see some pics of him on fb recently with someone else's child. The child looked to be about 1. Who knows, that child could be kin to you or a friend of yours. They should have known that he wasn't worth making a deal with the second that they found out he went to another County & molested a child while out on bond for rape. He made them look like fools! I wouldn't have believed all of this either if I hadn't have been around to see/hear it. I used to have blinders on too.

Sorry I had a few hard test this week I had to study for. The answer to your question is "never enough" and hearings are open to anyone who wants to sit and watch. Sorry I am not George Barnhill nor would I know why you are upset about this matter besides the fact it must be personal to you.I will pray for you and your family because I understand the pain you must be going through. If you have any information about farther criminal actions report them to the police immediately.

I think you have your blinders on still if you believe that someone else could of done a better job then Barnhill who has done this for most of his life. Going to trial you risk not getting a conviction at all and that is something you need to remember especially with someone not as experienced in trying cases.

If you feel that it was a bad decision to make a plea offer then you need to ask the reasoning behind it and I do not know that. In court cases you have to weight the pros and cons of going to a hearing and there is a thought process behind giving plea offers. I would suggest honestly asking about it instead of letting your anger get the best of you.
