N.C. State fires Mary Easley

North Carolina State University axed former first lady Mary Easley's $170,000-a-year job Monday as newly released documents indicated her husband was involved in her hiring.

Yea!! her pay can now pay at least 8 or 9 teachers pay. Lets use it there!!

' But Bowles said it wasn't clear how much it would cost N.C. State to get out of the contract or when she would work her last day. "That will have to go through the process," he said of the latter. When asked for details of the process, he said: "I don't know." '

' Jordan said Mary Easley is a good teacher and a good person who is caught up in an attempt to go after her husband. He said it isn't about her or N.C. State: "It's about trying to get the governor." '

' "There seems to be some feeling that the rules did not apply to them - how the arrangements were made for (Mary Easley's) salary and how the job was secured, these were not done in apparently the normal procedure." '

Seems like the powers that be at North Carolina State University didn't want to anger Governor Easley so they assisted in this obvious act of nepotism.

This isn't the only thing being questioned about his abuses of power...

NC State Government is "Tammany Hall" on a State level. The Jim Black fiasco, the Easley administration, the State Lottery, the Highway funds, the million dollar Parton scandal, etc., just touches the tip of the iceberg. Unfortunately, the electorate reaffirms permission to continue this year in and year out, in hopes of getting a piece of the pie.
