There is no consideration for the whole of the nation, just latinos. This is serious, we must put a stop to it, our politicians march in line. 1 Not all; I didn't vote for Brown. I am first generation American. My parents came from Mexico with visas in hand and worked hard to become U.S. Citizens. They made ours an English speaking home, worked and paid taxes and never, never expected hand-outs from any one. They were proud and grateful for the privilege to vote. My father fought in WWII and both of my parents said that the happiest day of their lives was the one when they became U.S. Citizens. They worked hard all their adult lives to become Americans. They taught my siblings and me to work hard for what we want, abide by the law and be responsible for our actions. My parents were so ashamed of the Mexicans who came here only to work the system and take advantage of programs meant to help those truly in need. I am proud of the legacy my parents left for their family. My parents taught me that the true Mexican heritage is devotion to God and family, work hard to provide for your own, obey the law, repay your debts and be a responsible citizen. |
