"A study by an agency that helps to oversee the Western electricity grid suggests the renewable energy requirement would cost less if California made plans to import a larger share of power from renewable sources in other states."

Could this group be the next ENRON? This has been California's problem since the 1970's. Not enough in State power generation and little to no baseload power generation. California has been a net energy importer for decades, the deregulation debaucle in 1999 and the ENRON abuse of the energy generation hole it created gave California rolling blackouts when it was unnecessary. In the article this group states it 'could' save California 600 million in enery costs. Possible, but what would it cost to build power corridors from Wyoming to California to get the 'cheaper' product to market? 500 million? A billion dollars? So, these guys bait and switch, they say 'our energy is cheaper, buy from us'. What they won't say is how much the extra infrastructure will cost to get this 'cheap' electricity to California. Californians will pay higher electric bills with fee increases, if not on the price per KWh of energy, then on distribution fees on every electric bill.

Agreed, California needs to solve it's own energy shortages with local jobs and companies. We have 2 large mountain ranges that are windy all the time. we need to build our own power plants and Hire Californians to build and run them.
