What was he supposed to do? Stand there and let the boy kill him????? We have our right to protect our family and ourself!!!! That is what is wrong now, they can rob and shoot us but we cannot defend ourselves! If you are afraid and you panic, your not going to stop shooting a gun and take a chance on the bad person to jump up and start shooting you. What on earth is wrong? This man was only protecting himself!!!!!!!

ITS TERRIBLE. I THINK THE JURY NEEDS TO HAVE THERE HEADS EXAMINED OR JUST THROWN IN JAIL THEM SELVES. THIS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE WHY I HAVE LITTLE FAITH IN OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM.WHAT A SHAME!

I would like to ask the jury one thing. do you think that jerome ersland was aware that when he got out of bed that morning that he was going to shoot and kill another human being. if your answer is no then how could you convict him of murder 1?

How can anyone say for sure rather the boy was dead or not before ersland came back in the store and shot him again? Lets assume the boy was already dead. If thats the case ersland didnt commit 1st degree murder. Only GOD knows for sure, i dont care if you do have a phd you still cant be certain the boy was still alive. Even if the boy was alive ersland still didnt do anything wrong. The only thing ersland is guilty of is defending him self. I wish him the best.

Let the unconscious boy who was lying unmoving on the ground kill him?

What was the threat? That Parker might bleed on him with malicious intent?

The main problem is that we have a racist sociopath in the Governor's Mansion so the murderer might get away with it in the end.

Because he turned around, retrieved another weapon and calmly and calculatedly emptied five rounds into an unconscious boy lying at his feet. What Ersland committed is pretty much the definition of first degree murder. The fact that you have chosen to ignore this rather simple fact speaks to your own lack of morals than does anything else.

The pharmacist unconciously fired but I believed it was out fear, subconciously it was an act of self defense.

He would have had a better chance to be pardoned if his trial had ended last year while Brad Henry was in office. It is very risky for a governor to pardon anyone while they are still in office and plan on running again.

Is it ironic that these same posters who think it's OK to "kill scumbags" are usually the very same people that want to out law abortion?

For them, it's only ever okay to kill someone if they're aware of being killed.

No, it's like this: The people who oppose the death penalty for THUGS like Parker and his buddies are USUALLY the same ones who
APPROVE of abortion. Get your thinking straight.

Actually, I am FULLY in favor of the penalty for ANYONE who commits murder as long as the penilty is carried out fairly and consistantly between all races, which at this point it's NOT.

But since the bible is CLEAR that life begins when the first breath of air is drawn, I don't think what another woman decides to do with her own body is any of my business and defiantly NOT the business of the government or any man.

BTW there was a sharp and sudden drop (nearly 80%) in violent crimes since 1992, 18 years after abortion became legal.
