This seems kind of silly... For most abortions taking place within the first 8 to 10 weeks of pregnancy there's nothing to see on the ultrasound but a dot. You can sometimes hear the fetal heartbeat at 8 weeks, but most of the time you can't hear it until you're at least 10 to 12 weeks pregnant. And why would you want to hear the fetal heartbeat if you are going to abort?

This isn't to "inform" anyone. It's to try to change their minds, and possibly emotionally scar them even further. Abortion is not pleasant and nobody thinks it's supposed to be. I'm not understanding why people like this women try to make it even harder for women to piece their lives back together after an unwanted pregnancy.

I understand when it's misogynists passing this kind of 'reform' but a woman? If anyone would know what a burden pregnancy is on the human body, not to mention the dedication it takes to raise a child, it would be a woman. She is WELL AWARE that this kind of decision is always difficult. But, it's no where near as difficult as being raised by a mother that resents you.

Mind your own womb, lady. Why not pass legislation that doesn't impinge on a womens right to chose without being further traumatized in the process?

It's conservatives fundaMENTALists like this woman who have held our country back for so long. The rest of the world has progressed while we remain mired in this self righteous bs. It's nauseating and beyond archaic.

That's what's so weird about the whole thing. Sebelius is NOT the one pushing this legislation. She is usually pro-choice in her political positions. I think she just caved to pressure before the confirmation hearings she has to face.

What is traumatic about KNOWING? How is more information about what is going on inside your body traumatic?

And more importantly, it's giving them the option, it's not required, so your outrage is pointless.

Makes sense to me. If your going to kill the baby, you should at least see a picture of first.

It's not a baby yet. It's not born.

So to you it's only a baby after it's born? That must mean that you approve of partial birth abortions. You know the ones? The one where they pull the baby out feet first and shove a stick in it's brain to scramble everything inside. It's probably a very humane thing to do, after all it's not a baby until it's actually born the right way. Even though there are cases where the "baby" has actually survived the procedure and was smothered afterward to fulfill the mothers commitment to murder the baby.

It says a lot about her 'convictions'...

Who will trust her now?

Abortions are highly personal, medical procedures, usually sought under emotional distress. I neither approve nor disapprove of someone else's medical procedure. It's not my business.

I don't know anything about late-term abortions except that they are extremely rare and very cumbersome to have approved.

I don't know, it just seems weird to me. It's a choice to see -- in most cases -- a dot on a screen. At 8 or 10 weeks, there's really not much to see. Most abortions take place in the first trimester, so I just don't get it... What's the point?

I don't know about Sebelius' motives either, but considering her past voting records, this one seems suspect. It does seem like she's going against her own actions in the past, so the accusation that she's pretending to make amends to Prolifers makes some sense.

And if that's that case, I can only say it undermines the connections she's made with her base.

She's not getting any kudos from ProLifers, as far as I can tell.

The picture would be of a dot. What's to see or feel sorry for? It feels nothing, knows nothing and it's mother doesn't want it. I always wonder about people like you and if that's why you are so intrusive. Because your mothers didn't want you now you have to force other children to bear the same burden? You are like pedophiles. You know raping a child is wrong and that it messes up your life, but they still rape kids just to insure they won't be alone in their suffering. Sick sick sick. All of you.

If you want a submissive bitch, buy a dog. Women will never again be ordered around by your kind. Never.

Don't fool yourself. It's a baby alright.
You can attempt to split hairs over whether it is or isn't, but everyone, EVERYONE, knows it's a baby.
It's just easier for you to kill off something
that can't be identified as a child or a baby.

You are either totally clueless, or just parroting the pro-abortion line.
They are not extremely rare, and very easy to have approved. It happens all the time.

I could ask you the same question;
What's the point?

What's the point of your comments?

You made it sound like a non-issue in #12, but posted five (5) seperate comments about this non-issue.

The point of my comments? Just curious about this whole Sebelius thing, and I almost always answer posts directed to me.

My understanding of the law in Kansas relative to late-term abortions is that two independent physicians must certify that the mother's health is in imminent danger before a late-term abortion can be performed. I mention Kansas because that's where this story takes place. I don't understand where you are getting this misinformation that late-term abortions are common or easy to procure. That's just not true -- at least not in Kansas.

As for a pregnancy being equated to a baby -- Sorry, you and I do not agree. And the Supreme Court sides with me.

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I reside in Kansas. I think I know better then you how easy it is in Kansas to get a late term abortion.

The guy they call Dr. Tiller, and I say THEY call, because doctors DO NOT KILL - they heal, has performed thousands of late term abortions.

Kansas is the late term abortion capital of the United States.

Tiller the Killer, has a proffessionsal arrangement with another Kansas doctor, who for years has rubber stamped every single request for a second opinion, regarding late term abortions.

That's not speculation, or assumption, or anything other then the revealed truth.

That has been a key point made in trying Tiller for committing illegal abortions.

Any abortionist in the USA can hire someone with a medical PhD, to certify that the mother's health is in danger.

Tiller is a state licensed Doctor.
His hired croney is another state licensed Doctor.
THAT MAKES TWO (2) INDEPENDENT PHYSICIANS

Jen, it's all about the money.
Remember this, ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!!!!

You will always come to the proper conclusion

You also wrote:

Do me a favor. The next 10 times you see a pregnant woman go up to her and ask her how her fetus is doing.
Or ask have you named your fetus yet?
Or do you know if your fetus is a boy or a girl?
Or has your fetus started kicking and moving around yet?

I bet that will go over like a turd in the swimming pool.

You may dissagree with me, and the Supreme Court may disagree with me, but every pregnant woman will tell you everything about HER BABY.

Jen is you support the right to abortion, or if you champion anyone's right to off a baby, or you are one who has had an abortion and are unrepentant then you are guilty of murder.

sorry if that make you angry with me, or makes you feel bad, but that's the truth.

You and others can argue all day long and it will mean absolutley nothing in the end, for you and those ohter's will still be a killers.
