Jerry Brown did the best he could. We had no right too expect much. We saw the union warning labels slathered all over Browns Ads BEFORE we elected him.

Better to "kick the problems down the road". Better to leave the extinction level fiscal nightmare for our pitiful children and grand children.

After all, we don't measure up to citizens and parents in other States. We're only Californians.

the dumbing down of ca kids has been going on for awhile. even when i was in school ca is so far behind others that in the 4th grade i learned in a one horse town in texas things that i did not see in ca until high school.
the bar needs to be put back up and stop lowering it,all need to be help to the same standards.

Calif had to lower the bar for quality education. We had to accomodate the massive number of non english speaking foreign illegals and had to provide cover for the teachers unions. We didn't mind lowering the quality of our schools. Most parents here don't even pay attention to prepping their kids for much of a future. It's hard work to be a good parent and takes too much time, effort, and energy. Parents have too many other distractions.
