they shoul be protected!!!!!!!!!! its against the 8th amendment. They shouldn't be locked up like animals 23 hours a day. maybe thats ones that assault staff or cannot be the difficult ones but not everyone should have to pay for some inmates that dont give a crap!!!!!

The whole prison situation is messed up. I just found this news site on Jerry Brown. They let people write in to create discussions on issues. I would like to make this one an issue on there, maybe Brown would see it. Here is his new "media" wing .. http://www.jerrybrownjr.com

I agree the whole system is messed up, in reality i dont think governor brown will do anything about the prison situation. i believe some inmates should be in solitary , but i also know that a lot of them dont belong there. They dont see what being locke up for 23 hours day does to a person. hopefully jerry brown will see this issue and does something about it.

CalingaCA I was doin some searche on googe on the topic, prisoners and the system. I found this, now this is amazing.. http://www.jeenhan.com . They are vets fighting for an inmate. I mean WOW.

I think we should talk about the conditions that we give to the prisoners,

I don't think they should strike by not eating, that is too severe for someone who has very little as means of comfort,

Ya your right jake they should not strike by not eating,but what else can they do,its better than starting a riot right.?I believe that many people dont care about the prisoners rights, but i do care.
