""""A Republican-led Missouri House committee plans to hold a hearing on measures seeking to impeach Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon. The Wednesday hearing on three separate impeachment resolutions includes one citing Nixon’s decision to allow same-sex couples who married legally in other states to file joint tax returns in Missouri. Another measure criticizes the governor for the amount of time he took to call a special election to fill legislative vacancies. The final measure to be considered by the Judiciary Committee would impeach Nixon for his refusal to fire state officials involved with the Revenue Department’s decision last year to scan driver’s license applicants’ personal documents into a computer system.Nixon has called the hearings "some sort of show."""" First of all, a small group of Republican twits do not represent all middle and southern Americans any more than Rob Ford or Bill Whatcott represent all Canadians. Agreed?

And now on to the subject at hand ... this little band of thugs in the Missouri House has no grounds to start impeachment proceedings against Governor Nixon. The governor has not done anything wrong, unethical, or not in keeping with the powers of his office. These GOP numbnuts are simply pandering to the lunatic fringe among their constituents, for whatever good they think it will do. I'm glad they're wasting their time, and doing it so publicly.

It's your inane position that they have the right to discriminate against the Governor.

Are you trying to suggest there is such a thing as a normal decent Christian?

Jesus made Christianity perfectly clear:

JESUS: Luke 19:27, "But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me."

JESUS: Luke 14:26, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters yes, even his own life he cannot be my disciple."

JESUS: Matt. 10:34, NIV "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

Good post. I agree it is good they are doing it publicly. They think it makes them look like moral beings but instead it makes them look like a bunch of intolerant bigots.

They are as intolerant as is Jesus:

JESUS: Luke 19:27, "But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me."

JESUS: Luke 14:26, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters yes, even his own life he cannot be my disciple."

Once again you prove you are incapable of making distinctions where they exist and also not making them when they are necessary.

You hate it when homophobes swish in here accusing you of molesting little boys yet you intentionally misrepresent and twist the positions I have about the government and that makes what you do to me NO DIFFERENT from what the homophobes do to you.

Discrimination is a horrible terrible and insane thing to do, yet we have the right to engage in discrimination. Tobacco is horrible and you have the right to smoke it. What is really insane is you thinking government can solve the abomination of discrimination.

And you are so far completely 100% incapable of understanding that I am opposed to discrimination AND that I do not believe the government can solve the problem. Just like I am opposed to tobacco yet I support your right to engage in the deadly addiction.

Maybe in a few more months you will start to understand what I am saying. You could speed that time table up if you would actually read what I write instead of over reacting to it in a very hot headed manner while not understanding a word of it.

What I pointed out about the disjunction between your inane, disingenuously argued position on public accommodations laws on the one hand and your outraged post here about this instance of discrimination was entirely accurate.

By your standards the House Panel has every right to discriminate....

Own it.

And don't change the subject.

Well, true, but if Missouri doesn't recongnize SSM, are they required to extend tax status to people from out of state when those IN Missouri can't get it?

I can see that objection made by gay constituents in Missouri.

Yes, we have schools in Missouri, and one of the things they teach us at a very early age is that there are also schools in Michigan, of all places, even though the students there are sometimes unkind, ill-mannered and sanctimonious.

By the way, give my love to Dave Agema and Terri Lynn Land when you see them next.

Why is it that the further South one goes in North America, the indigenous IQ drops proportionately?
I'm kidding, of course.....
And yes ... Rob Ford is definitely embarrassing.
