This is a lose-lose situation for the House GOP and the consequences in the mid-term elections may be substantial. Good luck, guys; you've been bested by the President in every confrontation since the election so far, losers.

• Republicans aim to call Obama's 'bluff' on spending cuts ,

• Obama proposes the sequester, then bitches about it and tries to blame others……who would have thunk it.

The republicans are not the losers- the American people are. And Obama shares a large part of the blame for the mess we are in. He is not a leader when it comes to the economic crisis that HAS NOT gone away since he was elected to his first term. He keeps saying it is getting better until a showdown with congress and then he talks about how bad things are. So is he lying or is he stupid when he says things are looking up with the economy?

If by winning you mean kissing Øbama's ass, regardless of consequences, then yes, Patty, you're winning all the time.

How can the Republicans in the House (or in the
Senate, for that matter) complain about the
$85 billion cut in funding that will take
effect if their is no agreement on the debt
problem?

It seems to me that they should be as happy
as larks about it. They will finally get what
they have been wishing for for the last 30 years:
cutting federal spending. Ever since Reagan they have been wanting to "starve the beast." Well, cut
$85 billion out of the budget and you begin to starve the beast. In fact, keep on cutting and pretty soon it will be starved to the point
where it can be "drowned in a bath tub."

For Republicans, what's not to like?

As Reagan said, government is the problem and
not the solution. Eliminate government and we
eliminate the problems.

Great idea, Republicans.

This seems way late. Why didn't Obama start publicizing what the GOP was doing in congress from day 1 of his first term?

Maybe Obama is calling out the Republicans on their
hypocritical whining out the size of government.
A quick $85 billion cut to the budget should be just the
ticket for Republicans. Talk is cheap and no one is cheaper
than a Republican whiner. When faced with the reality
of real budget cuts they start getting scared that their
own constituency my have to share the pain. What a bunch
of pussies.

Eisenhower was the last Republican with an ounce of integrity.

That's not the point. We have a man sitting in the White House that cares more for his agenda and his party than the nation he has in his care.
He could care less for the poor fools that voted for him. He and his bunch have the rules fixed so they don't suffer.

Obama actually believed that he could talk to Republicans
in a rational manner. He had much to high an opinion of
his own powers of persuasion. It took him a good
while to finally realize he was dealing with a bunch of
people who just plain hated his guts for winning the
White House. The Republicans in the Senate with their
350+ silent filibusters finally made him see the light.
Republicans hate him more that they love their country.

And a Republican congressional delegation that hates
Obama more that they love their country.
When they have to make a choice between their hatred
for Obama and their commitment to the country, they opt
for their hatred every time.

The only good Dem president was Clinton and he sure was not good in the faithful department and was pretty stupid as to the definition of "SEX".

On Meet the Press Sunday morning they said "the WH HAS GOT TO STOP THIS SCARE TACTIC" it is not going to be that bad. They also said the stock market is stable. The host is David Gregory, which is a Dem.

The Democrats are able to spend TRILLIONS of dollars we DO NOT HAVE and they try and scare us over a lousy 83 billion dollars???

Besides the sequester was all Obama's idea to start with.

Those "men" as you call them are actually sitting in Congress (mostly the House) and not in the White House.

Obama must get up every morning thinking "How much divisive crap can I stir up today". What a scary man. He is having a horrific impact on America.
