I believe the governor denied it becouse the city has knew about the problem for years and years, then they spend 2.5 on a new city hall building but cant take care of a $500,000 drain pipe?

Wow. People should be calling their city planners and board if this is true.

Yeah, the flooding on Stafford has always been an issue! In my opinion they should've been thinking about that instead of the sidewalks (lol that flood), all the work on the lower end of Mercer, the City Hall build., ect. Don't get me wrong... it's going to be nice if they ever get the new C.H. open but it could've waited. Oh well... eventually someone will figure it out.

Everything below Princeton Avenue has always been a major swamp. Even park of Princeotn Avenue would get flooded many years ago. The person that owned that swamp must have been on the city council to get approval to even build Stafford Drive. At least they took a wasteland and made a bunch of money on it. Now we look at the state with wet eyes and ask them to fix this mess.
I guess the state figures that Mercer County takes enough from the state coffers to pay the Welfare and Food Stamp recipients in this area.

was Stafford drive built? 1965? They knew about that problem then and wasn't Stafford just originally meant to be just a bypass of downtown (it used to be US 460) and not meant for development?

heres an idea, when we get torrential rains in the area avoid the intersection of bee st and stafford dr thats where the flooding occurs save the half million dollar drain pipe
