My admiration for Cuomo just grows and grows. I love it that he didn't go to the RCC's bishops' meeting where they thought they could spread their hate propaganda.

I assume that Cuomo was raised Roman Catholic and that he at least maintains the appearance of practicing his religion. [This is America, after all.] It should be interesting if the bishops decide to ex-communicate him.

Remember that the last time a Marriage Equality bill was voted on in New York, the bill was supported by the Governor, passed by the Assembly, and failed in the Senate because 8 out of 32 DEMOCRATIC senators (25% of the DEMOCRATIC caucus) voted AGAINST the Marriage Equality bill.

Since then, DEMOCRATIC Senator Hiram Monserrate was expelled from the Senate after his conviction on a violent felony count.

DEMOCRATIC Senator Pedro Espada was defeated in his primary election, because of his indictment on 6 federal counts of embezzlement and theft.

DEMOCRATIC Senator Karl Kruger turned himself into federal law enforcement authorites TODAY to face corruption charges which have not yet been announced.

Welcome to the New York Senate, weary citizen.

I can't help but notice that once again you left out the little fact that ALL 30 REPUBLICAN Senators also voted against it. Now why is that?

I'm NOT a Republican and have said so here more times than I can count.

I'ma Libertarian and there is no bigger supporter of Marriage Equality, esipecially in New York where I live, than myself.

But now since additional indictments of DEMOCRATIC members of the Senate AND the Assembly and others have been announced today, I doubt a Marriage Equality bill will be passed this year.

Upon being informed of the federal indictments of DEMOCRATIC Senator Espada, DEMOCRATIC Senator Monserrate, DEMOCRATIC Senator Kruger, DEMOCRATIC Assemblyman Boyland, and DEMOCRATIC lobbyist Misky Lipsky, Obamaniac® immediately issued a statement distancing himself from his close DEMOCRATIC colleagues by saying "BUSH'S FAULT !"

oh not this again. It failed because of the Conservative block. Name 10 Republicans who supported the measure and voted for it in the Senate.

How many Republicans in the NY State House voted for the Marriage bill last year? And how many 'libertarians'?
