"It's taken him five years to pay for that two-year degree, and he says he's done it without financial aid or tuition assistance. His dream is to become a math professor or civil engineer."

Now he can become that in Mexico.

"I think he's an American. He was carried across the border at 22 months. He's as American as anyone who has lived here for 18 years," Malloy said."

He's a fake American, he is in fact a Mexican citizen who got a education in the US, be thankful for that.

Shouldn't they be fighting for the taxpayers who paid for his education and deport him instead??

Illegals cost Connecticut taxpayers 1 billion dollars last year. Social services are our third highest expense here. Liberalism isn't an illness, it's a plague that wiping out the hard-working citizen.....who will support these people when we are gone? Ps....for someone who came here as a toddler, this guy still sports a noticeable accent.

Not as much as Conn is paying, I'm sure. Conn is a liberal state; Idaho is a conservative state. Idaho has passed many laws in the last 10 years that make being illegally in here (the USA and Idaho in particular) a crime.

One thing great about the State of Idaho is that they take spending taxpayer money VERY SERIOUSLY. If any money is going to illegal aliens here, it is because of federal laws, not Idaho law.

This is from last year

"115,000 individuals living in Connecticut illegally is approximately 3.2% of the population. Not such a large number, but what is the cost of such an illegal immigrant population to the rest of the residents of Connecticut? According to FAIR 2005 projections, the estimate was $259,000,000. That is a staggering number considering our total state deficit for 2010-2011 state budget was approximately $940,000,000.

But those are 2005 estimates. What is the cost currently? According to The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the United States spent on average for health $7,538 in 2008 per person. Multiply that by the estimated 115,000 undocumented workers and you have a staggering figure of $866,870,000, most of which comes out of the public treasury, and that is only for healthcare. That figure does not include the burden placed upon other social programs such as housing assistance, education, food assistance, and the criminal justice system. Defenders of illegal immigrants will tell you the often repeated party line that “illegals pay taxes.” Illegal immigrants may pay certain sales taxes, but they certainly do not pay property taxes, nor do they pay state and federal income taxes, both of which are the lion’s share of revenue for state and federal governments. The bottom line: illegal immigration is an expensive luxury, one the citizens of the United States and especially the residents of Connecticut, can ill afford.

This is a statement on Conn wishing to give instate tuition to illegals - note his stance: http://repcandelora.com/... Also from last year but there is not a lot from this year that I could quickly find. He is a current representative and looks to be one of the saner CT reps.
