Anti Gay Republican Bob Vander Plaats announces he is in the Iowa Governors Race

Full story: lezgetreal.com

An outspoken opponent of Marriage Equality in Iowa announced late yesterday he plans to challenge Iowa's Democratic Governor for that job. Republican Bob Vander Plaats, 46, a Sioux City businessman, officially announced his campaign in his hometown of Sheldon on Monday by saying he would issue an executive order putting the issue same-sex marriage in the hands of the legislature and the voters of Iowa on his first day in office. In June, Vander Plaats also said he would issue an executive order stopping same-sex marriage until the legislature either passes a law legalizing it or passes a constitutional amendment banning it. He furthermore said after doing so, he said he fully expects Democrats to try to remove him from office for “promoting lawlessness.”

I hope this bigot feels the sting very publicly when he loses! It will incense the allegedly "Christian" groups and the chain of events will unfold: they'll go on a massive tirade, exposing themselves for the charlatans they are and spelling the downfall of DOMA on a national level. The president won't have a choice but to issue an executive order at that time.

Ah, yes! A single issue candidate who wishes to do no more than spread hatred and division amongst his constituents. The far right republicans have learned the lesson well that fear and hate are worth big bucks.

Is this another "gay" thread? Or is it an atheist thread? Hard to tell the difference.

I was just passing through. I guess I already knew that most gays are atheists and most atheists are gay.

Have a nice day.

That's because you equate your supposed Christianity with bigotry, so naturally non bigots look like atheists to you.

And you're not just passing through. You're just another sexually disordered, irrational, "religious" freak who is a fixture in g/l threads. You ought to think through the implications of that fact in terms of your sexual identity, Jethro.

Have a nice afterlife, and soon, cretin. Praiz!
