Judged: 3 3 2 Never, as long as our social bent on justice is guilded by the bibles guilt and shame morality this will be the rule. This is the bible belt. |

United States |
Judged: 1 1 1 In the states with the most draconian policies — including Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi and Virginia — more than 7 percent of the adult population is barred from the polls, sometimes for life. Nearly 378,000 have lost their right to vote in Virginia. Nationally, nearly half of those affected have completed their sentences, including parole or probation. Policies that deny voting rights to people who have paid their debt to society offend fundamental tenets of democracy. But the problem is made even worse by state and local election officials so poorly informed about the law that they misinform or turn away people who have a legal right to vote. |

Judged: 2 1 1 It is a priviledge and if you prove that you can't follow the rules, I sure don't want you voting for politicians who run the country. Sorry Charlie, Learn How to Behave! |

Judged: 1 1 1 Hello math majors wrote: Yes, because convicted felons ares so very worthy of the societal benefits of.. the society whose laws they have broken? Rrr? It is a priviledge and if you prove that you can't follow the rules, I sure don't want you voting for politicians who run the country. Sorry Charlie, Learn How to Behave! I can only hope to be as perfect as some people in our society. Some of us have had hardships that caused us to make poor choices in our lives. Many have become positive role models and productive citizens, more than I can say for the people that live with blinders on. Only thing that does is allow them to live peacefully in their own little mind and perfect their justification for being narrow minded. Don't judge a man until you have walked a mile in their shoes! |

"Some of us have had hardships that caused us to make poor choices in our lives."
And most of us have had hardships in our lives but we chose not to make a poor decision. Glad to hear you changed your life around but spare me the victim defense. |

Currently, over 5.3 million people in the United States are denied the right to vote because of felony disenfranchisement....so you have plenty of company with whom you can commensurate. I think the sympathy is pretty sparce on this forum. |

Judged: 1 1 1 People love the opportunity to feel superior to others though. Take your rules and shove them up your ***. Every one of these smug, narrow-brained imps, probably could think back to the time they drove drunk, smacked their wife, snorted a line of coke. And the pathetic hypocrites can keep their mouth shut. They're exactly the same. |
