Anti-gays don't care about hurting children, they just care about hating gays. If a child gets deprived of ever having a loving family...well that's just collateral damage.

Judiciary, take note. "Rational purpose" required to take equal rights away.

Are you out of your mind? You must have just misspoken.

Adoption should be based on the fitness of the individual, would be parent in question. You think _that_ thing who posted up there qualifies?

That's fine with me ... as long as they don't take any Government monies for even so much as a paperclip.

Homosexual adoption denies a child a father or mother and places them at risk.

Which didn't you need?

Yet D. Moore's children were deprived of a father when his wife divorced his disgusting azz after catching him in bed with another down low male.

Should those kids - you can no longer say "his" kids - have been taken away from their mother?

Out the window with "what's best for children". Having religious beliefs is no excuse for discriminating against kids or their potential parents. I cringe to think what kind of wing-nuts private adoption agencies are going to attempt to place children with now. Personally, I don't believe any adoption agency should have a right to discriminate on any basis whatsoever except for monetary means and criminal histroy. There are just too many children that need to be placed into homes, and plenty of loving parents to adopt them if the standard were not:

1. Christian
2. Straight
3. Conservative
4. Married

Add individual demoninations to that if you wish to go so far. Anyway you look at it, good parents are being denied the opportunity to adopt needy children on the basis of what kind of social engineering the state of Virginia deems acceptable. So what if they're going to be raised in household where (if one happens to be gay) their own parents might hate them.

Risk? How? Ask my baby sis if she likes her brother to come over and paint her feet. It's our favorite thing to do. I know I'd make a good parent because kids love me. Just because I'm gay, that does not mean I am incapable of raising a child. Regarding that gay adoption denies a child a father and mother, they were already denied both in the first place, so it's a moot point. Not everyone was as lucky as you or I. Regardless, such does not preclude that a kid cannot have a godmother. I have one, and she's just like a mother to me even though I have a mother in the first place. Actually, my Aunt Cathy could never have kids, so she "adopted" me and all my childhood friends. She was and is as good of a mother to me as my own mother continues to be. If she were my kid's godmother, I'd have no worries about raising my child with fathers only. He or she would have the of the most loving family one could have, and that includes my extended family. No matter what trial or tribulation, they were always there for me. If were in the hospital, I would be surprised to see my mother not come to visit with my Aunt at her side, and probably, there would be a whole entourage behind her.

Every child NEEDS one loving mother and one loving father to be raised in a loving home. That is the BEST situation for EVERY child.

Except for all those children for who there is no loving home to be found. They can rot, for all you care.

And since so many don't, they'll just have to "settle" for two people who really want them, and love them with everything they are and have.

You're off base again.

I recommend the article in full. It is hard to believe such a law will withstand judicial scrutiny.

>Private adoption agencies that receive public funds will be able to discriminate against prospective adoptive parents based on sexual orientation, religion, age, gender, disability, family status or political beliefs, under legislation passed by the Virginia Senate this week. A similar bill was also adopted in the House.
