Thank you Mayor Futch for your support!!! Shame on you Bill Sue!
I would love for StarNews to conduct a poll of Brunswick County citizens that would actually use this bridge. Most of the traffic in the mornings and evenings are using the Isabella Holmes Bridge not the Cape Fear Bridge. The larger employers PPD, GE, Corning, factories on 421 and city/ county departments are all located on the opposite side of the city. I'm confused on who would actually benefit and/or use this bridge.
The Town of Leland will die without the thru traffic from 17 and 74/76. Sale taxes from businesses collected in Leland help to offset our property taxes.. What happens if the sale taxes are not there any longer????
