McIntyre against megaport in Southport until a study is done
Commissioners in Brunswick and Columbus Counties believe the port could potentially bring thousands of jobs to this area, but McIntyre isn't on board with the idea.

Congressman McIntyre clarified his comments to Save the Cape. He was talking about the ongoing Maritime Study - the $2 million study sponsored by the NC Department of Transportation. At the same time, he re-affirmed his opposition to this project, for all of the reasons he detailed in his June, 2010 statement.
His statement was incorrectly interpreted to suggest he was supporting a new $10 million Army Corps of Engineers Study. He was not.
