Frank the city did not evaluate the bldg with professional engineers. Instead, the thought is to "throw" as much in it as they can without a plan. Re-use of NYS Armory facilities has been going on quite awhile and most communities are thoughtful with assessing the bldgs and actually engage the adjacent residents for inclusion in the process.
Not Rome.
Reminds me of a book title: "If You Don't Know Where You're Going, You'll Probably End Up Somewhere Else"

I'll be interested in seeing how this works out. I mean, don't they have any graph paper in city hall?

How much money is Rome going to spend fixing this place up? Or, is it ready to go? A week or so back, the paper made it seem like the electric bill alone, with no one really in the building, was more than what we're paying now for the other buildings combined...but, a real study needs to be done.

No news is good news. And there were no reporters at the big walk thru this Tuesday. Interesting how if you read the report in the Sentinel, you will see that Steve Jones only talked to those interested in acquiring the Armory. Jones was never there. The report is not news, it's outright propaganda. Wake up Rome, your going to hell in a hand basket and your lovely mayor can bury your sorry asses.

If the councilors were smart they would pass on taking over the Armory, just like they pased on taking over the old Base Gym. There is more to it than what they are being told about the place. I use to work out of there and I know it was a dog to heat, and they were always doing repairs on the place. The city would end up putting a lot more money in the place than it worth.

No those dumb asses will cave into Joe and take over the Armory. Then when we have to spend big bucks to keep it up, they will all bitch about it.
