Follow the money and I'll bet that the upstate area will get shafted again. Any bets?

Of course we will. New york State government only works for downstate well being. The N.Y. cancerous growth called downstate gets all the money and support.

Being a part time resident of western and northern New York, I can say we do much better than them getting milk from a dry teat.

Monroe County vote AGAINST casinos by 460 (NPR). Now it's time to go on the warpath against the indians too. No sovereign nation here.

The casino will bring additional revenue to the state. Increase revenue will definitely aid them in funding a lot of projects. However I hope they can find a way to prevent minors to enter casino.

Sure change will be brought to ny and to some ny families. I know. Two families
Destroyed by a pathological gambling son and father. People with obsessive compulsive disorders should never be allowed to enter casino doors. Plus there will be less sticky fingers in the till and company books.

Casino JOBS?? Sure ALL service industry jobs, half-time. Resumes?(Yeah "I was a blackjack dealer.") Not many jobs for that. Upward mobility jobs? NOOO. Maybe more police jobs to deal with the robbery, lawyers for divorce and bankruptcies. Look at Niagara Falls. See how the Seneca Casino did not revitalize downtown Niagara Falls. Jobs lost for outside restaurants and taverns. Go across to Canada. See how their North End is still a dump. Why is it that the New Jersey's Casinos have a huge ghetto right on their borders? Humm? These things SUCK money out of a community, not give money.

I say put one in the city of Rochester it couldn't possibly make it any worse, then there would be no negative consequences involved as you listed above
Congel is foaming at the mouth.......Look for the newest casino to appear at a location in a northern Monroe County town.
