Despite the mealy-mouthed language, this Bill is targeted and animus-based.

Get ready for lawsuits.

The Bill won't last long, especially once the lawsuits start and the Feds step in.

1. I'm a New Yorker. It's not "my state".

2. I never defend ANYBODY for something like this.

3. I'ma Libertarian, NOT a Republican.

4. Even if this atrocious bill is passed, it will be ruled unconstitutional.

I hope the bill passes and every gay business owner and gay public employee refuses to service to straight Christians based on their own deeply held religious beliefs.

Just to make the point.

Keep it up, fools! You're just giving us more evidence that your anti-gay legislation is based solely in animus and is completely lacking in any legitimate government purpose.

It's also evidence that the Republicans and their neo-con buddies are all too stupid to think their actions through. Why do they think that the discrimination this law allows won't be used against them, too???

Because they're that stupid.

Now is the time to sell Arizona to Mexico for $1.00
.
US taxpayers give Mexico $411 MILLION in US Foreign Aid every year; so Mexico can almost certainly afford to buy Arizona for a lousy buck

Two percent, or less of the population isn't going to have any impact on the economy, no matter what they do. In Arizona, sexually deranged, gender challenged idiots don't amount to anywhere near 2%. They haven't found ways to have sex with sand... yet.

"Gay business owners!" In Arizona? Unless they're porno shops, that's doubtful.

i like Arizona. It's a lot warmer than New York.

And the $ 411,000,000 could be spent much better by using the money to build an 87 feet high, 32 feet wide wall all along our southern border with Mexico to keep the riff raff out. Hire the former East Germans to design and build the wall. I'll supply some of the machine guns for free if they build it.

This is *just* starting to strike me as virulently childish and profoundly stupid of the antigay and indeed, this is going to prompt lawsuits and I believe these things are going to drag on for a long, long time.

I have seen it pointed out ceaselessly and I agree wholeheartedly that these bills open the logic to allow refusal of service to ANYONE based on ANY deeply held belief. These bills and "laws" are such goddamned excuses to be hateful; never before except in bases like RACE has the country had such huge hissy fits because some people don't want to be in the presence of others. There is no logic to this, except hatred.

I have advocated this ceaselessly and I will not stop.

If these "laws" gain a foothold, people can either live with what they deserve or fight *viciously* for laws -- by any legal means they need to make their point -- that allow them the same dubious "privilege" of literally refusing to have anything socially to do with another person they don't want to be around.

What's fair is fair. There is truly and thoroughly zero sense in passing these laws unless we start passing this "privilege" wholesale to every last person in the nation who doesn't want to deal with someone else for a variety of reasons, period.

It *would* be fun to see employees at the DMV quizzing people about their religious beliefs before being willing to renew their driver's license or process any paperwork for them. THAT would certainly make the point quickly enough, wouldn't it??

"Before I process this, could you please tell me which church you go to and what was the date and amount of your last donation to that church? If you're not a good enough Christian by MY standards, it's against my religious beliefs to help you in any way. I only help Methodists and occasionally a Lutheran. If you're Baptist or Catholic, you can get into Susan's line over there. She's UCC, but she'll help you, anyway. If you're Jewish or Agnostic, and let's face it, all Jews are agnostic, aren't they?? If you're one of those, you'll have to drive over to our other branch where Charlotte will be willing to help you, provided it's not a Jewish holiday--if it is, you're screwed for today. Muslims we don't help at all in this county. If you're a follower of Mohammad, you'll have to mail your paperwork in to the main office at the capital. They've got someone there that doesn't mind helping your type...."

Wouldn't *that* be fun to watch???

I'll tell you what's bizarre about the Arizona legislature.

I'm from New York. In New York each person has one senator that represents them in the New York Senate, and one Assemblyperson who represents them in the New York Assembly.

But I recently discovered something I never heard of before. In Arizona, the Senate districts and the House districts are the same, and each person gets TWO representatives in the House Of Representatives. I've never heard of such a thing before.

Anyone here live in a state with a weird system lie that ?

Sorry sir; but white bigots from Kentucky must use the pay-waterfountain around back next to the Christians-only pay-outhouse
