Respect?

Seriously??

Respect would be recognizing the 1300+ marriages legally performed by the state.

Respect would be not trying to deny same-sex couples their right to marry.

The anti-gays obviously have NO clue what respect means.

Sorry, governor, that won't work. Telling people that they must stand outside the doors of social convention, and that the legal rights and needs of their families don't matter, can only ever be FALSE civility and respect, at best.

I`m afraid it's much , much too late to talk of " civility and respect " .. He should have paid some mind to the staff and students of Indiana University instead of catering to an ignorant group of Miss Goody-Two-Shoes ' to which , I'm sure , he cheerfully belongs ..

The 10th circuit scheduled oral arguments for 10 Apr.

The state requested to be able to submit longer brief than usually allowed. Sounds like their primary arguments will be the procreation and kids do better raised by a Mom & Dad argument.

As if banning same-sex couples from marrying has any effect on either.

Shhhh, don't tell the anti-gays!

This is going to be an epic fail!!

It's hard to be civil and respectful when you are trying to directly harm couples and their families by claiming they are unfit for legal marriage.

Basically the same argument in Judge Walkers court?

Sounds like it. Plus they're going to cite the Regnerus study as "evidence" as well.

That's no evidence at all since it shows nothing relevant to the state's interest in restricting marriage.

I've been hoping and waiting for the SCotUS to weigh in on that piece of trash.

Yes, but those assertions were never specifically addressed at the Circuit level. The PropH8 defense proceeded on other, more narrow grounds; and the Court never questioned nor examined Chief District Court Judge Walker's evidentiary Findings. They weren't even mentioned.

The State of Utah intends to raise those for examination, and hopes for counter-Findings to invalidate Walker's admissibility Rulings from the higher Court.

Ones that waste taxpayer money on cases they know they will lose? This case is costing almost every Utah taxpayer $1.2361

Are you for real? lol Regnerus himself said the conclusion was not supported by the evidence and he just made up the gay parents group from a disparate group with anything gay related as he could only find 2 gay child raising families. This ought to be good.

Exactly. Regnerus got paid by Focus on the Family even though his "study" was totally bogus.
