Rick Snyder doesn't care about gay people, he doesn't care about working people, he doesn't care about people of color, he loathes anyone not white, straight, rich and Republican.

I stall can't quite understand why the GOP thinks it's OK to deny an entire group of citizens the same rights that other citizens have.

Some people have bad days; some people have bad weeks; some people have bad years; but this guy as a bad life. If the public had seen this side of Snyder he would never have been elected

.
How could anybody in their right mind expect a person this bitter and vindictive to effectively run an entire State of 9,895,622 people?

The Governor probably is not willing, or is unable to admit, that he is not a dictator and what the FEDERAL COURTS rule will be what he does in the end or he will be held accountable by the Courts. Federal Law trumps State Law.

A survey of the states puts Michigan at #35. There are 15 states that are worse run than Michigan.

GA is 34th, not much better.

We didn't even know we had a governor until one showed up recently during a snowstorm
.
So Georgia's 'do nothing' governor is one notch better than Michigan's hissy-fit governor
.
Thanks for the good news

Firstly, I don't think that the governor's position is legal.

Secondly, the stay is set to expire on Wednesday, and I don't think that the stay will be renewed. There is virtually no chance at all that the judge's ruling will be reversed.

It's not that the GOP thinks it's okay, it's that they don't care that it's not.

We'll take care of Snyder and the AG and the rest of the Republicans running our state this November.

As for the marriages which took place, they'll be upheld as legal- eventually.

As for the stay, I think it's likely one will be issued by either the 6th circuit or the SCOTUS, as has happened in every other case.

Gay = stay.

It WON'T matter in the end......the 6th will probably extend the stay throughout the appeals process, but in the end.....Michigan will LOSE not only the appeal at the 6th, but at SCOTUS as well and the right to marry will be granted and the marriages WILL be recognized!!!

Actually there's at least a 50-50 chance the 6th circuit will overturn the district court rulings in Michigan as well as Ohio & Kentucky. Ditto for the 5th circuit (Texas). Those are both conservative dominated appeals courts.

That would actually be a GOOD thing in a way, because conflicting rulings from 2 or more appeals courts ensures the SCOTUS steps in sooner rather than later.

My take on it is we win in the 9th, 10th, & 4th circuits this year, but lose in the 5th or 6th (or both) next year. That essentially forces the SCOTUS to take a case(s) in the '15/'16 term, with a final resolution by Jun '16.

If we keep winning in every appeals court, the SCOTUS could just sit back and let this play out until all the circuits have ruled on a case- which could take 4-5 years.

Hey stupid filth, the right of men and women to marry one another is not being impaired.

Your "right" to impose some alleged "religious" dogma upon others is.

You could be right, but I don't necessary believe we will lose at the 6th or even the 5th just because they are more conservative Courts.......I guess we will have to wait and see!!!

Yeah, it's really a crap shoot at this point.

I can see individual conservative judges like Friedman and the Kentucky judge overturning the bans like they did, but when it gets to the Appellate & SCOTUS level the politics tend to come into play more. That's why pretty much everyone expects the final SCOTUS ruling to be another 5-4 decision.

I guess I should say it would be more LIKELY that the conservative 5th and/or 6th circuit courts would uphold the bans than the more liberal/balanced 4th, 9th, & 10th circuits.

The stay decision will be interesting, but unfortunately we won't know which 3 judges are deciding it.

My main concern at this point is a vacancy on the SCOTUS between now and 2016, especially if the GOPasaurs get control of the Senate this November.

If The Obamaniac, and his OBAMACARE and his cronies in the Senate weren't such an unmitigated failure, the Democrats wouldn't have to worry about losing the Senate.

And remember that it was Harry [G]Reid who decided to use "the nuclear option", after castigating Republicans for years for merely threatening to use it.

This election cycle could be a Democrat wipeout nearly as big as their 1994 debacle.
