It sems to me that yes the guy was trying to rob the pace. What you hae to look at is the guy was in his vehicle attmpting to leave the scene. If I were investigating this I would arrest him on manslaughter charges because the threat was gone whenhe got in his truck and was leaving. Not justifying that the dead guy was wrong in tryig to stick someone up.

more cops to work then we all maybe be safe why not hire some more good cops and send maybe the some ones back for more training.why not let the cops on bikes or fast golfcarts.and why not hire a meter maid to mark the tires like in the good old days. maybe use new orange glow in the dark paint to mark the tires with. i think this town should have only city cops patrol inside the circle. and let andys gang take outside the circle and that may help more people in circle city.

I hope he didn't suffer before dying. I still can't see why Mr. Aguilar had to be shot once he left the store when his intent was to steal merchandise and not to kill. I would've let him go and let the police play "Cops and Robbers", RIP Colby, I'm sure you had a good heart somewhere.

Definitely more investigations need to be done. True a robbery was committed but, we can't live in a society where business owners can chase robbers leaving their store then shoot them down. Here are my questions if anyone is concerned;

1. How many rounds were shot by Colby?
2. Was shooting the robber more than once an intent to ensure the certainty of death?
3. Were any background checks done on the business owner for any known violent tendancies? Did he not have any concern about other citizens that were around the incident.

I hope the business owner remembers this incident for the rest of his life, and how it also affects Dothan,AL citizens as myself walking about his business area. THE KILLING WASN'T JUSTIFIED.

Little do y'all know, Mr. Aguilar pulled a weapon first and met his match when the store owner pulled his faster. I hate it for both parties involved.

Anybody pull a gun on me better be ready to use. I don't care if the bastard is black, white, red, or a mexican. I will defend me, my family, and my property with lethal justice.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the fact that the business owner knew Colby. And that the business owner didn't like Colby... There is information being left out. This situation was more then him just trying to steal something. The business owner chose to kill him and something needs to be done about this horrible event.

What they haven't mentioned is that the business owner and Colby knew each other. Something just doesn't sound right...

The more Criminals that are shot in the process of commiting a crime equals less crime. IF you knew that if you tried to rob somebody you had a 90% chance of being shot you would think twice.

In cases like this, a manslaughter charges AGAINST the store owner is foolish. All it does is take rights away from law abiding citizens and give them over to law breaking hoodlums.

And these criminals know that they have more rights than does someone who is out there just trying to make a honest living.(Which is why they keep robbing and assaulting).

I'm sure the criminal in this case didn't just go into the store and politely ask for money/merchandise. No, there were threats, intimidation, and the owner was no doubt in fear of what would happen to him, his family or his employees if he failed to comply with this thug.

And now (as usual) someone is crying for the criminal? If he had a real job, instead of trying to steal something that didn't belong to him, he wouldn't be dead now. That's the choice you make. He made the choice, and it was a bad one. Boo-Hoo.

I can't believe the folks that get on here and in the media and screech about how unfair it is and how wrong it was for him to be shot. How about how unfair it was and how wrong it was for him to commit the crime in the first place? Oh, that fact just gets glossed over and everyone is told what a good boy he was and how everyone is going to miss him.

I have no sympathy for this person at all. Stop being a thug, stop trying to take what isn't yours, stop being a drain on society.(That is, unless someone can explain to me that this person 'had' to steal clothing items in order to feed their poor, starving children).

Someone mentioned 'how this affects Dothan'- well, I think it is a positive effect. Someone comes in, threatens your life, takes your property, and they get what they deserve.

People that try to put down the business owner and defend the worthless criminal are just as big a loser (and whiner) as he was. Dothan doesn't need your kind around here to push up the crime rate and make our streets, businesses and homes unsafe.

You'll get no sympathy from me or from a large majority of the people that live in Dothan or the surrounding areas who are fed up with people who think they can threaten your life and take whatever they want from you.

So, what time is the march or protest scheduled for this weekend? You know someone is going to try to turn this into a 'bad white man always killing completely innocent black folks' issue.

Did someone seriously ask if the store owner had had a background check to see if they have violent tendancies????- That is tooooo funny.

Yeah, because someone who is threatened at gunpoint and robbed of what is rightfully theirs must have violent tendacies to actually have the nerve to resist a low-life scumbag thief. Is that the best you can come up with to justify your arguement?

Did someone do a background check on the criminal to see if they had violent, thieving, threatening, good for nothing tendacies? Well, we don't need no background check because they just proved it as a fact for themselves.

For the whiners - you can call me racist if it makes you feel better about yourselves, but what I have said is regardless of race, creed or color. These type people deserve what they get, no matter if they are white, black, brown, green or purple. A low-life theiving criminal is a low-life thieving criminal.

I agree with Rick, this is one more low-life who I won't have to worry about threating my wife, mother or daughter. Good riddance to them all!

Colby was not a thug ! Colby was heart warming , friendly guy and a great father. The business man owed Colby money. So it wasn't a thief encounter. If anything the business man should be arrested. I can see if Colby was on his property during the whole shooting but he was not. Shooting once , and then calling the police would have been acceptable. Justice will be served babyboy Rip Colby / Kolo
