John I couldn't of said it better myself. I'd give up mountains, and forests for good ole' foothills, prairies, plains, The Konza prairie is soo beautiful. Granted Kansas, has waterfalls, caves, very tiny mountains, just about everything anyone could fall in love with from rock formations to fertile soil. Kansas is my most beloved place on Earth.
I don't know how hard it is to transverse the plains of Kansas at long distances, but I have trekked the Prairie, and it's hell on the Ankles, trillions of small rocks bead the ground everywhere you step, but at least they would have wonderful wildflowers to look at while hiking along :)
By the way, Might be a bunk deal for the Uk's to take California, since it'll fall into the ocean anyways, and thank heavens for that, what a horrible place.
