HI – I’m about to move to Stoke with my daughter, who’ll be going into year 8 in Sept. I want to start looking at schools – does anyone have inside info or just thoughts on the relative merits / non merits of schools in the area? We've been looking at Blurton, but also open to other suggestions.

Best place to look is the ofsted website to be honest. Stoke is going through the "building schools for the future" program at the moment and many schools are closing/opening. Worth checking out the plans via the local paper.

Happy New Year, Virgo! Reach for the aspirin and read this.... This year you should strengthen your position at work and may even get a deserved pay raise. Your love life should be stable and satisfying for the most part and friendships will evolve under the sign of understanding and harmony. Take the bull by the horns and confront a financial problem that begins to become serious. The longer you wait, the more difficulties you'll have in finding a solution.
