Praise for Co-op holiday firm as it creates 120 jobs at Burslem call centre
MORE than 100 jobs are being created through the expansion of a call centre. The Co-operative Group is looking for 80 permanent and 40 temporary staff to work at The Co-operative Travel's Burslem office.Full Story

I see that the co-op has neglected to mention the cost of creating 100+ jobs in Burslem, the truth of the matter is that its not an expansion and these jobs have been created at the cost of redundancies in Coventry.
Although my employment will transfer to the co-operative group, realistically these jobs are inaccessible as traveling to Burslem daily is not an option for the majority nor is relocation.
I have worked on behalf of the co-operative via an outsource company for over 4 years and gained respect for their values and principles. This move questions whether the people making these decisions are acting on the co-operative values and principles, which is what makes the co-operative different from its competitors. So what makes the co-operative any different from any other organisation?
