Presteigne Investment Club

Presteigne Investment Club is about much more than simply investing in the stock market. Itís about meeting folk from the same area, enjoying dining out once a quarter with fellow investors - usually at Presteigneís Radnorshire Arms - while discovering, at their monthly meeting, which shares are considered best to invest the £25 which each member commits as their monthly investment.
PIC, as itís affectionately known, has been operating for eleven years and has a portfolio of shares worth in excess of £50,000 - how many monthly subscriptions of £25 does that work out at? Itís not been all profit making and taking though: Marconi and Woolworth were amongst shares bought which subsequently went bankrupt. Dignity and Asos, however, have really yielded dividends and made PIC members a handsome profit.
One of PICís longer standing members has recently moved to Devon,(taking his share of PICís profits with him), leaving space for others to come along and join in the fun of speculation, for minimal investment, in comfortable surroundings with like minded friends and neighbours. Martin Alderson - PICís Chairman - stressed that, although all are welcome, inexperienced Ďamateursí with a real enthusiasm for learning more about share investing would be especially welcomed. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend a PIC meeting; to witness how the Club operates and meet some of its members, before making a commitment to join. For further information, contact PICís Secretary, Keith Wilson on 01544 260800.
