The Interesting Beginnings of Famous Clubs

“Football was introduced to Madrid by the professors and students of the InstituciA3n Libre de EnseA anza. They included several Oxbridge graduates. In 1895 they founded the club Football Sky, playing on Sunday mornings at Moncloa.”

Many of the most prominent teams today were begun by groups of friends eager to find a source of amusement. via Last Kick

I have a team from the Spennymore United Football Club. My grandfather played Centre Forward and his brother Frank, was the goal-keeper. They were in their home field clothes, which were black, and white with black stripes. Their away clothes were white shorts and red top. But the photo shows their home field clothes.
