Boris, you sicken me. Closing Britains OLDEST fire station shows exactly what you think of this country and its history

Politicians are in it for themselves...at least the majority of the recent ones are anyway!

Long gone are the days of serving the country for the good of the nation, now their all like pigs at a trough!

Boris would rather spend millions leaving his legacy on his Boris airport!

Repulsive people who leave reality behind once they are at the trough of Parliament or the EU.

They're making a farce out of democracy!

Bang on! And that folks is the problem with Britain today.

Politicians who don't concentrate on the job they are employed to do because they are more concerned with the next rung on their political ladder.

So a politician in East London will make policies that don't incentivise the local immigrant population to assimilate. All they care about is winning the next local election by pandering to their constituency.

David Cameron did it in November. He flew to Sri Lanka to attend a Commonwealth Heads of Govt meeting but didn't bother with his role which was to promote Britian for investment project and bi-lateral trade.

No, instead he met with a Tamil lobby group in London who pormised him 300,000 votes if he raised Human Rights issues with the President of Sri lanka.

Raise the issue by all means, but do it in your own time, not when you should be working for Britain's best interests.

You don't see him raise such issues with the Saudis or Chinese

All politicians work for persoanl gain now - they don't work for the best interests of Britain anymore

Not really.

We elected them in, and we can still replace them.

When did they ever do that?

I think you are seeing the past with rose-tinted glasses.
