But in the end this was a proposal presented by SUP Binkley. That is all this was, a proposal that followed its proper course. It was presented, debated, voted upon. Not mandated, not insisted upon. Even if it passed. Still not mandated nor insisted upon. The School Committee Members represent "your" vote. Votes matter. But too often, when folks lose the debate/vote (doesn't matter party affiliation, etc) we claim to have no voice in the process and to be oppressed. Make the Votes count. Participate.

Total bull!!!!! This is not what happened, the process was not how it should have been.
The moment they presented this, the community almost as a whole wanted it shot down, that should have been the end, they p i s s and moan about budget and no money yet they dropped what? on this to study it, draw up whatever, but they have the nerve to complain about paying benefits to cafeteria workers who have put in years of service to the kids and community.
The school committee priority's are just that, THEIRS, and no one else's and no regards for truly what we as parents feel or want, they have become an entity unto themselves with Binkley at the helm of their self made mother ship.
I say it is time for some new faces and new ideas sitting in those seats soon.

How about a few people who actually care about our city? The "self made mother ship" is exactly how it seems. Alien leaders who have come in to impose their will on the people of the city, mind melding with some, brainwashing some, and turning their backs on old ways that worked. The school committee, with only a few exceptions, are totally mind melding with this ego maniac who has done nothing except create havoc in our city. We are not better than we were before she got here. We have nothing to show for all of the changes except for a total distrust of school administration.

A parent said at the meeting last night that the SC represents the people. One of the school committee members responded it isn't his job to vote the way the parents want but to vote for what he thinks his best. He also gave a tongue lashing to people who came out to speak against ELT. He doesn't speak for me or anyone else... he speaks for himself ..and is quite arrogant about it I might add.

He was correct, and if you do not agree with what he thinks is best, then vote him out. YOUR VOTE IS YOUR CHOICE.
