Toll of violence from parades and policing costs revealed

The huge problems confronting officers policing major parades in the west of Scotland will be laid bare before the governing body of Scotlanda s largest police force this week.

I have been away from sunny Coatbridge for 52 years. I have lived abroad for 44 years.These religious parades shows a sickness in society. I thought one of the commandments was "love thy neighbour as thyself" I see little evidence of this. I am a retired Police Chief Superintendent and would consider this type of religious parades as provocation, thus coming under CONDUCT LIKELY TO CAUSE A BREACH OF THE PEACE and thus illegal.Only in Scotland and N.Ireland do you see this sickness. Thank god I now live in a civilised society.
