Severn reef plan is 'more green'

Conservationists claim building a reef across the Severn Estuary would be cheaper, less damaging and generate more power than a proposed barrage.

Large sections of the 'Reef' open at high and low water and when there is the full two metres of head difference a 'race' can be used for ships up to 120,000 tons (various options are under consideration). Oh, and why 'sod the birds' when by cooperation all interests can be looked after?
