Hello, my name is Mrs Ann-marie Kennard
I am hoping that you can help me thank some people
on Thursday evening i was walking my two dogs on the Hardwick heath as per usual
but at around half past 6 when i had stopped to speak to another dog walker, as you do up there, pebble vanished.
pebble is a very small dog and she has not vanished before
we, being myself, pebble and her 9 month old puppy Doofy are at the health almost every day, she never leaves him (her puppy)

I have no idea what happened, she was there one minuet and gone the next. I called and called her, i took the normal route around while calling her, but nothing. I knew there is no way she would ever do that, i thought something bad had happened.
We, being me and doofy the pup walked around and around the health, i was calling her all the time. It was getting dark, i was upset, and the public up that health were just lovely, even two teenage girls who were clearly not dog walking, just crossing the health to go out, they even walked around a dark health calling pebble.
One particular couple who stayed the course were just great, i have never seen them before, they were just walking their dog, they stayed so late and it was cold and dark, i do not know who they were but they were so kind. I thank them for staying with me.

At about 8.40 my mobile rang, by this time pebble had been gone near two hours, it was a lady from Hardwick park gardens she had just rescued pebble from her swimming pool !!! Just yards from where we had last seen her.
That little dog must have swam and swam for her little life.
I have no idea how she got into that garden, or how she fell into that swimming pool.
she must have heard all those people calling her, and the whistles being blown (thank you the dove pub landlord and lady)

She must have been in that pool a long time. When we collected her, the man from that abode came and found me on the health; they had wrapped her in a towel, cared for her, but she was shaking so much.

The little girl at the house heard pebble cry, the parents saved her.
How can i express my thanks so greatly, to pebble’s rescuers and to all those people that had no idea who we were but gave up their time,
all for a little dog called pebble.

I will always be thankful and grateful.
What a great town i live in.

The kindest regards
Ann-marie Kennard
and pebble. xxxxxxxxx
