Mrs Vivian is the only person, outside the local council, who I've heard a positive reaction from. Despite the exhaustive positive study of around 50 people undertaken by the council.

Customers we have in say they find getting along the high street difficult and that the traders vans which seem to be on the high street most of the day a danger to pedestrians.

I would also say that these are not typical market stalls - one is a double glazing sales stall and several other just sell random 2nd hand brick a brac.

Its a real shame that Bromsgrove is no longer a market town.

The town centre still has a lot more to it than most people think. We have listed everything at http://www.bromsgrovetown.com

As someone who works on the High Street I don't find the Market to be much of a benefit to the town itself in its current position. Its more of a danger as delivery vans try to squeze past the stalls, which seem to expand every week, and the market traders themselves driving about on the High Street while the shops are still open. I dread havign to go from one end of the town to the other on foot on Market Days.

If you are going to have a pedestrianised high Street then there really shouldn't be a continual parade of vans and cars driving up it when business are open, its simple not safe.

I had a look at your website just the other day Mr Coulson, it looks a nice idea but I was sadenend to find it was quite out of date, I do hope the project hasn't been abandonded?

Hi Steven. No, the site is bang up to date with new shops added and old ones taken away. Which part of the site did you mean?

Ah, I see the site has indeed been updated Mr Coulson, the last time I looked several shops that had closed several months ago were still listed and some that had opened were not. Many thanks.

I don't know how the town expects to attract new shops when you can't get to the current ones for market stalls, half of which are of no use whatsoever - a double glassing market stall? a stall selling broken toys and charity shop books? I was sorry to see the new Greengrocers shop that recently opened close down, but after a market stall appeared directly opposite selling fruit and veg three days a week it much be difficult to compete with the rent, rates and expenses.

I'm not against market stalls at all by the high street does just not have room for them, especially with all the traffic they bring with them. Perhaps closing off a part of Windsor Street would be a better solution or even placing the stalls on the old Market Hall site as nothing has been done with that since the hall was demolished.
