The British line of succession excludes Catholics or indeed any other religion other than the Protestant faith. This rule discriminates based on religion. Moreover, the monarchy is gender-discriminitive, where male primogeniture favours the eldest son to the throne, even if there are older sisters.

The Rules of Succession of the British Monarchy

- The monarch must be a Protestant at time of accession, and enter into communion with the Church of England after accession.

- Anyone who is Roman Catholic, becomes Roman Catholic, or marries a Roman Catholic is permanently excluded from the succession.

- A person is always immediately followed in the succession by his or her own legitimate descendants (his or her "line"). Birth order and gender matter: older sons (and their lines) come before younger sons (and theirs); a person's sons (and their lines), irrespective of age, all come before his or her daughters (and their lines).

- A person born to parents who are not married to each other at the time of birth is not included in the line of succession. The subsequent marriage of the parents does not alter this.

The United Kingdom does not have a written constitution, much of their system of government has been inherited from an undemocratic past.

The monarchy in Britain has existed in its current form since the 10th century. The monarchy encourages the continuation and acceptance of outdated traditions and beliefs. Britain's image abroad is of an outdated nation living in the past.

A hereditary monarch representing the feudal society of medieval England is intolerable in a modern democratic state. It represents the pinnacle of the anachronistic class system in Britain, promoting social division, snobbery, and separating them from ordinary hard working people. Britain will never become a meritocracy, where people are given opportunities according to their ability, not according to their birth, if the monarchy remains. As long as the monarchy survives, so will the class system in Britain.

Abroad, Britain sold human beings into slavery, and treated inhabitants of her colonies as second-class citizens, causing the long term underdevelopment and tensions that we see today in Africa, Middle East, South Asia and in other parts of world.

The Windsor family have done fantastically well out of the British people.

The Crown Estate consists of property holdings worth about £6 billion ($12 billion). They are concentrated in London where there are over 600 properties, at one time valued at £2,626 million ($5,252 million) including embassies and West End stores. Outside the capital the portfolio includes Ascot horse race course, a castle and more humdrum commercial properties, including fish farms. The Estates include 274,000 acres of farm land and forest. Over half of the coastline and the seabed out to 12 miles is also a part of the Estate. The profit from these properties in the 2008 - 2009 financial year was £226.5 million (approx.$453 million).

The Crown Estate web site describes the estate as "part of the hereditary possessions of the Sovereign." The Sovereign is Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles are exempt from corporation, capital gains and inheritance tax. They are also exempt from civil law so tenants have no recourse.

But the British tax payers have to cough up at least £150 million ($300 million) a year to support the British royal family. Running the monarchy costs the Queen's subjects an estimated £37 million ($74 million) a year. This includes the upkeep of Balmoral, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

Prince Charles' Duchy of Cornwall estate was worth £505 million ($1 billion) in 2005. The Duchy of Cornwall, which Prince Charles was given on his 21st birthday by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, compromises 70,000 acres of Devon, 18,000 acres of Cornwall, a further 15,000 acres of Somerset and most of the Isles of Scilly.

The Queen is one of the richest women in the country. She gave Gatcombe Park to Princess Anne and built Sunninghill Park for Prince Andrew. Sunninghill Park is now worth £8.5 million ($17 million) and she's handed it over to Andrew who didn't have to pay the stamp duty which most Queen's subjects have to pay.

If the Queen ever sells a property, she doesn't have to pay capital gains tax because she's exempt from that as well. She and Prince Charles are also exempt from corporation tax, which means they don't have to pay tax on profits from their own estates.

Prince Harry is already worth £25 million ($50 million) and Prince William will one day inherit most of Prince Charles' wealth.
