from jihadwatch: "This is almost as obscene as the case itself. In light of the fact that forcing non-Muslim girls to be sex slaves is in accord with Islamic law, these Muslim leaders should not just be issuing empty condemnations, but instituting comprehensive programs in mosques and madrassas to teach against the beliefs and attitudes that lead to this kind of behavior with such increasing frequency among Muslim men in Britain. Instead, they are crying about 'Islamophobia,' and thereby demonstrating why so many people dislike and distrust them in the first place ..."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-54528... I wouldnt usually argue with anything that is daming to islamic practices, but this is a link to an article, by a midlands based Pakistani (Shafiq Mohammed) and he genuinely is disgusted by what has happened. Not long ago, he was in a TV documentary which might be available on 'You tube'. The documentary was an investigation, persued by Shafiq himself in which he uncovered some very damming evidence of this kind of crime. Shafiq highlights that for the most part, the Pakistani community abhores this kind of thing and knows it is committe only by the lowest of the low. The problem , which he also highlights is that the police and judicial systems dont want to be seen as racist, and therefore procede with 'caution'. There are also some community leaders who feel that highlighting the case only leads to additional problems, ie Nick Griffin trying to hijack the case for his own ends. The line that ought to be taken is as follows. This is a disgusting crime and should have been dealt with immediately and severely. If there is no evidence, then an investigation will exhonorate the accused. If there is evidence then the accused - whoever they are and whatever their background, should be locked up. The other thing to bear in mind is 'likelyhhod.' The film 'copycat' which is about a serial ciller, highlights that the most likely candidate for this type of crime is a white male, between a certain age. Just because 9 out of 10 serial killers is a white male, I am not offended. And similarly, just because pakistani males seem most likely to commit this kind of crime, pakistanis shouldnt be offended either. Certain types of crime are common to certain types of society. This is just one example.

even before sentencing, people like Ronan and I Cant Read were accusing us all here of islamophobia and racism for merely pasting news about them from the media! Ronan etc, would wish this to be completely covered up.

Covering this up would be the very worst thing that could happen. It isnt somthing to do with islam as a whole - although it does reflect a less than favourable attitude towards women. Its a problem with certain individuals who have brought particular items of cultural baggage with them. If we face up to it, we can deal with it. Together!

i do not see why islam as a religion should be blamed for this individualīs actions. itīs foolish to do so. nobody vilifies christianity if a christian commits crime. the right thing to do is to blame the criminal, not the religion.

Probably because these types of crimes seem to follow the Muslim community wherever they go? People just connect the dots...

The religion is at fault if it teaches, Some are beneath you, it gives a prson the right to look down on others. This is what islam teaches, If you are not a Muslim then any thing done to you by a Muslim is good and he will be rewarded in heaven for doing it, one of the convicted stated that he had done no wrong, even though he had broken the law of the land he had not broken any Islamic laws. Also the use of women in Islamic countries like the one the one they came from (pakistan) is despicable. Women have little or no rights, female children as youg as 10 years old are mundainly given away as wifes, so even culturaly these men feel that what they did is OK, Disturbingly there is another investigation on going in Rochdale in to another Pakistani paedophile ring and according to the news papers there could be one or more in every major city, Even allowing for hype and hysteria this is very disturbing nwes. While Muslim comunities seperate them selfs from the rest of us this type of thing will carry on, If the only education Muslims recieve is from the Koran, then they will continue to commit crimes as the only respect they have is for the teachings of mohamed, Shariah law and their own comunities

What is the point of having any religion if it allows for - even promotes - violence and rape, particularly against the weak? The origins of most religions are dubious at best - it is only tolerated because some have this 'faith'- meaning they have been conditioned to accept this as some sort of 'word of God' like truth. But when they replace 'common decency and behaviour' with uncivilised 'animal' behaviour, it has become worthless and redundant - and dangerous. The fact these people use their 'religion' to vindicate their actions proves this. These people were brainwashed - or allowed themselves to be - with a dangerous ideology, which is completely out of date considering it is a product of the medieval mind. These people refuse to accept anything outside of their 'world'. They don't want to know the truths science has revealed or the conventions of current social behaviour. And they are acting according to certain instructions from their 'warped' indoctrination. This problem needs to be faced head on - these people have mental health issues brought about by their evil cult. Do we really want them walking about freely amongst society at large?
